If i'm not wrong, you'll be given a link to the youtube video, when you create it. Have another look at it, because it was a pretty long time ago I was linking youtube videos.

Check the "description box" when viewing a vid. There should be a field called "Embed" or something like that. Inside the box there will be a snippet of html code, copypaste it onto your homepage.
