So here I was on Facebook, when I noticed that they added edited history. I think it would be pretty cool to have on OtLand since I already know that it is available in VB.

Global Mods can already see history, I don't think normal users should be able to see this

if a post has been edited, that means it was updated and that the old one no longer applies, what is the use of being able to see its previous content?

Well, I guess it's possible that the original poster might have accidentally deleted a portion of the post that they didn't mean to, etc.

If the current forum software supports adding this out of the box, I think it's a nobrainer.

Its common sense to check your post after you edit it, thats why we have a Preview Button :p

Honestly, I think this shouldn't be available for members, they don't need it, and we mods only need it when for example someone breaks a rule, then edits the post, thru the history we can see his original post, other then that, there's really no use for it

A good rule of thumb when designing software is to never assume that your users behave in a consistent and logical manner.

I stand by my point: if this can easily be added, add it.
