Hi, I don't know if this is the right board to write on but anyway, he friend asked me in school today about open-tibia servers, and if he's able to host and so on (in fact, he doesnt know much about hosting at all), I followed him home, and, he told me he has got a router but he doesn't know how to access it or something, I tried the usual ip adresses for routers like "192.168.0.1" It worked, but then he had to enter a password, (He has a router, dlink)

I tried to login with: Admin/password. (Didnt work)
I tried to login with: Admin/blank. (didn't work)
And I tried and tried, but never got in, so probably he has a password on it. He told me that, a guy was at his home and fixing everything for him, installing the router, and so on.

So probably, the guy has changed the password and he cant contact that guy which installed everything, so here's the deal:

I told him to reset the router, (He didnt want to, because he doesn't have knowledge about how to configure it later etc) and, then he asked if there's any program that can portforward the ports 7171 for him.... In fact, I dont have a clue at all so I decided to ask here, is there any program that can port forward for you? Or can detect the password without resetting it or something?

Hope I'll get an answer on this.

Just reset the router. Easy as that. ;)
There should be a button in the back of it "protected" from fingers, grab a pen and push the button for a minute.

The default username and password can be found in the manual which comes with the router, you can also google it if you know the router model.

Yes, I tried those username and password in the manual and it didn't work.. Isn't it a program that can port forward for you without giving password? skype is opening port 80 etc

The installer/your friend put another password; hack the router or reset it. Alternatively remember the password.

192.168.0.25 can also work.

Please read all the posts and answers before posting, he's having a D-Link, and so do I.. I know the IP to the router is: 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.1.1. And it worked, but he cannot pass through since he doesn't know his password, and he's refusing to reset it because noone in his family know much about computers, and last time I resetted my router was like 1 year ago, and after that I never did it. It screwed up the internet on all computers, so I had to go to every 8 computers in my house to configure it again, it was just a waste of time.

So please, can anyone tell how he can run his server through a gateway to the other solution like Talaturen said?

The simplest solution really would be to buy a splitter, and simply connect the router to it, as well as the host PC, thus the host PC gets its own "un-router'ed" connection, while the router still get internet and can distribute it to whatever PC's is connected to it.

No, he'd rather like to choose the solution Talaturen suggested. :) Thank you for your help anyway.
