I want to install The Sims 3, but I cannot install it because it says there is a previous version installed. So I go to control panel, find "The Sims 3" and try to uinstall it but I get this error:
xJOez.png

I think that the problem is that I deleted files from Program Files without uinstalling it(FAIL). So guys, help me here and you get rep ;) And I tried programs but the results are the same :(

I already have everything. Just need to install it, but I can't because of the previous version deleted not uinstalled :(

I am guessing you need to remove the Sims registry entries before you can reinstall it properly, so I googled remove sims 3 registry entry and the top link gave me this answer:

- start --> run
-enter "REGEDIT" and confirm with ENTER
- now a window with the registry editor should open

- then you have to open the following folders:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\

in the last folder "uninstall" should be the key: {C05D8CDB-417D-4335-A38C-A0659EDFD6B8}

-delete this key

- after doing so also delete the following folders:

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Sims\The Sims 3
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Sims3

- after that you can close the registry editor.

if, for whatever reason there should be no key file at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\
or folder called EA at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
(which was the case in my case ) try manually removing the entry out of the uninstall manager where you would normally uninstall the game, instead of "uninstall" click remove.

after that simply run a registry cleaner like ccleaner or tuneup utilities (i tried both) and you should be able to simply reinstall your game.

I don't know if it will work as I don't play/rate the Sims.

Cheers.

Save everyone on a external drive, format your computer, try again.
Are you willing to do this for a 12 year olds computer game?

Thanks, I would like to order:

1 giant bloody steak with extra pommes and some troll sauce.
