I was wondering if anyone here has tried to mix these two system:

I was trying to make use of the crafting system to craft items with stats from the upgrade system with no luck.
Any ideas on how I would go about to make it so that when you use smithing, you get EQ with item level and item rarity?
A hint in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
