Faction PvP Server - Your choices actually matter here

What is this?

I'm working on a two-faction PvP server with 8 playable races that have real differences, not just cosmetic BS. Deep crafting system, actual consequences for dying in certain duels, and monster loot that adapts to what you need based on your job.

Some of the cool stuff:

  • Faction War: Two factions fighting over Übervald. You can only attack the opposite faction in open world. Character creation auto-balances populations so one side doesn't steamroll the other.
  • 6 Core Classes: Assassin, Priest, Warrior, Ranger, Bard, Mage - each plays differently and has access to different abilities.
  • Races that feel different:
    • Vampires heal when they damage you
    • Beastfolk can shapeshift (bear form for tanking, etc.)
    • Elves can see through stealth, wreck with bows and magic
    • Demon Born are immune to magic and hit like trucks with AoE
    • Werewolves attack crazy fast, heal by eating corpses
    • Plus 3 more with their own abilities
  • Blood Oaths: Same-faction players can challenge each other to a duel where if you lose, your character gets deleted. Spectators can watch.
  • Stealth system: Assassins can go invisible for a minute. Some races can see through it. Good for sneaking into enemy cities.
  • Smart loot: Monsters drop different stuff depending on your job. Blacksmiths get ores, Beast Tamers get taming items, etc.
  • Jobs: Blacksmith, Beast Tamer, Brewmaster, Enchanter - all with their own progression and recipes.

What I'm using

TFS 1.4.2, probably 10.98 or 12.x client, MySQL. Lots of Lua work, some C++.

Right now I'm still in the planning/design phase. Trying to see if there's actual interest in something like this. Suggestions/ideas are welcome
