[USA] [7.4] Dura - A Harder Tibia | Massively Customized | New Meta | Long Term | Regular Updates | Never Reset | For Skilled Players

Server Website/AAC
https://dura-online.com/
Server Address
dura-online.com
Server Port
7171
Client Protocol
7.4
I think it's 8-10 months of same population so server will not die
I am not sure if there's somebody who can trust these gms/owner even if new server starts
Once corrupted (on the beginning noob wars), always corruped (later helping teams when they said they quit if gm doesn't help them, etc)
biggest dura staff mistake was to spoil their community early on and be too nice for them e.g allowing to cheat, unban some ppl, recover their death loss, recompensate items lost on death/crash etc

at this point dura have strong community of the same people who accept it and if arris decide to ban somebody for bug abuse (a bugs which were abused really often by that community) server will collapse

Cold waters of the North

On the dimly lit morn of the town, the rhythmic sound of wood chopping reverberates beyond it's outer walls. The furnaces burn steadily with what they're given: fresh timber all through the night. For before many the townsfolk the task of sharpening spears and fitting arrows is about – a practical preparedness for the ever reliable cold waters of the north. As they sit in the deep of winter with little to do, no crops to farm nor game to hunt, the town's residents engage their time in what they can; if not something available today for them then gaining advantage for something they will need tomorrow. The late seasons of the thaw are not too far off, which brings threat by way of each creature and beast being endowed with new found strength but also a ripe opportunity of great heaps of meat and fur.

1705001151670.png

From Friday, January 12th's Server Save, until Tuesday, January 16th's Server Save, the Lands of Dura will find themselves in the time of an early thaw.
All Creatures will have Double Life (2x Health). And, as is natural, they will have proportionate Experience and Loot, though due to their lumbering size they will appear (spawn) 25% slower. It will not affect Raid Creatures.

Take care, a blizzard is still possible after the thaw
Dura Staff

Pros:
Great PVE environment, very balanced from level 1-120
Most of the players are chill and nice, though this also means some are noob and spoiled
Staff is willing and trying to fix 7.4 balancing issues (still not there, but trying)
Monsters are crazy, full of spells. You cant just play out of your mind or you will most likely get yourself dead
Heavy custom content, a whole new game under 7.4 mechanics
True RPG server, at least it was (more on that on cons)

Cons:
Vocations are unbalanced post-120
Lack of transparency from GMs and past dramas left a bitter taste in the community. Nobody likes them
Rules can be bended by GMs on their own discretion is bullshit when they come to meddle PK issues. Even going their way to issue unjust bans.
A lot of information is left in the dark, players have no idea if sometimes they are interacting with something bugged or not
RPG is a major component, meaning you have to find out quests. Some of them are very hard to “figure out” and many players don’t know if something piece of lore actually leads into a quest or theres no quest at all. Sometimes they follow through it and is barred by a bug, making them give it up because they believe there is no quest.
Small developer staff, which means update will always come out on a slow pace, no matter what.
GMs doesn’t know how to properly deal with the community. The reason many has left.

Definitely not leaving Dura, what keep me movi by forward is hope that the server will keep up with good updates and improve their interaction with the players.

Client update

In the last few weeks, we made the client available to a select few players to test and provide feedback on, and thanks to their help, we now feel ready for all players to start using it on an optional basis.
The current client will remain functional for at least the next 4 weeks while we collect your feedback and fix any issues you discover. You are not obligated to switch to the new client at this time, however, I recommend you at least check it out as there are quite a few nice quality-of-life features included!

You can download the new client version here: https://api.dura-online.com/client/production/Dura_Client-6.2.zip
Your old maps, hotkeys, and configuration can be imported from the old client via Options -> Imports (A client restart will likely be required for all to take effect)

    • You can optionally turn back on the old dura client style in Interface options
  • Save and load minimap files at will (To create your own backups etc.)

We hope you enjoy the new client and look forward to working with you to make it even better in the future!

Update: Core-Design balancing, Vocation Balancing, PvE Balancing, New Stats and Mechanics, New Items

u A new core item stat has been added to the game: Focus.
This stat augments every possible thing one's character does concerning magical abilities, that is spells and runes. It does not augment utility mechanics like 'haste' (yet).
This stat scales with the power of your overall character. If you gain more Magic Level, more Level, more powerful spells, whether through your base character or your items Focus's power grows and you with it.
Focus is cumulative, like Magic Level or Axe Fighting. The sum total is added together from all sources (for now only items) and that is your 'focus'.
This stat after a certain point will be far more powerful conceptually than Magic Level. It will already be so for many many players.
u Over 90 new items have been added to Dura.
Be mindful though that since some Creatures of Dura (monsters) have still not been found (they've been in Dura for over a year) waiting in the Kha'labal, not all items will be attainable since some items are acquired through those monsters alone.
u Most monsters have had their loottables changed. To not cause spoilers we will not be saying which and how. However not a single monster's economic value/profitability has been changed. Nothing better, nothing worse.
u Monsters at 1200 Experience Points and higher will walk through Fire, Energy, and Poison. They will take damage on first walk-through, not on any succeeding walk-through. This includes bosses.

u Max Defense Battle Stance has had the 'power' of it's defensive ability lowered.
u As has been previously stated the Overexperienced System is designed to allow every player to hunt whatever monster they choose for 21 hours a week. However this is a great cushion and based in a theoretical vaccuum; in reality players are hunting far far more than 21 hours a week before the system takes effect. Therefore we are reducing this number '21 hours' to '12 hours'. This is a 43% reduction; meaning that Overexperience will now affect all players much sooner each week.
u Doors that were inside owned and unowned houses had a bug where one could not throw items through them. This has been fixed.
u Various cosmetic and playability map bugs fixed; none that affected questing/lore/mysteries.

More details regarding item and monster changes TBA.

Warlocks of Turmogoth

Beyond the edge of the world lies a lost and forgotten place, Turmogoth... shrouded away, the sun itself does not reach it. It is an unforgiving and desolate realm, where power is traded among scattered bands of rogues and mercenaries who answer only to whoever may feed the most mouths.

It bows to the ancient religions and those old ways they've inherited. Soon the sun will raise earlier over all the land below, and the grip which ice has over many a town and farm will break. Drawing down from the cliff wastelands, the Warlocks of Tumorgoth gather in solemn ritual, their dark robes being ripped by the biting wind. They will grant to their warriors the dread magic to drain the will of their foes, making more complying victims. This will keep Tumorgoth in strength a little longer until the next winter enters.

This event will occur from March 1st Friday Server Save to March 5th Tuesday Server Save.

During this event killing monsters will yield Mana to the player. For every 20 experience points gained from a monster the player will siphon 1 mana to his person, plus an additional flat 1 mana will be passed to his person for the kill itself.

On the Frontlines...

In the tumultuous world of Dura, where the air is thick with the promise of battle and the scent of magic weaves through the lands, the call for heroes has never been more dire. As darkness encroaches, consuming the light in its voracious embrace, a clarion call resonates across the varied terrains—from the mystic forests of the elves to the stalwart keeps of the dwarves. It is in this epoch of uncertainty, as the fabric of peace frays at the edges, that leaders, once content to orchestrate the dance of war from the safety of their command posts, step forth. These venerable figures, clad in armor that whispers tales of ancient valor, grip their swords not just as weapons but as extensions of their resolve. They march to the frontlines, embodying the hope and defiance of their people, ready to look into the maw of their adversaries and see the reflection of their determination in the blood-stained gaze of their foes.

1710514777395.png

During this event all monsters in Dura that are non-raid will have the frequency of being an Elite, and therealso a Legendary version, substantially raised. From rats to demons.

Start: Friday Server Save March 15th 2024.
End: Tuesday Server Save March 19th 2024.

Patch notes of february & march

u There was a mathematical error, a bug, with Overexp for people above level 220.
This being fixed will effectively mean one will have more time each week before Overexperienced triggers for oneself, i.e. longer to hunt.

u Legendary shields have been updated to reflect their former power. Great Shield at 63 and Blessed Shield at 67. Be aware that this is the exact same Power of defense the item had before the update at 50 and 55 respectively (though technically Blessed Shield has been nerfed with this patch, it was too powerful compared to great shield.)
u Annihilator Quest items have been made 'normal' items that do not break; this is equivalent to pre-update on February 14th.
This will be reviewed in 2 years.
u Demon Armor, Demon Legs, Magic Sword, and Stonecutter Axe have been removed from monster's loottables.
u Pair of Strapped Sandals should now work in entirety, both normal and quest. They still do not show their full range of stats however, including their MaxHitpoints buff. This will be fixed.
u Weights of items that were too high by a Power of 10 have been fixed.
u Beholder Helmet had a bug which has been fixed
u Medusa Shield had a bug which has been fixed

1711315912241.png

u Dead Fowl is no longer a container.

Easter is upon us!

1711659167272.png
The following will happen between March 29th Server Save to April 1st Server Save:

Wabbit Season!
You know how those furry cuddly wuddly fuzzy wuzzy little creatures can mate mate mate and duplicate. Well get ready for rabbits galore across the forests and towns of Dura; (whispering) and they just might have some goodies better than carrots inside. And there just might be a prize for the person who kills the most wabbits this season. Oh and this year there might be more than your average rabbit... Results will be posted after Easter is over.

Easter Egg Hunt anyone? Or maybe Easter Egg Riddle Hunt?
Get ready for games, fun, and events the whole weekend as Gamemasters and Community Managers will have impromptu moment to moment fun for everyone. Prizes of all shapes and sizes for puzzles of all flavors and wises.

And wait a minute.. what about the Easter Bunny?
I've heard of him before I swear. Well he just might pop in, and he might hop around the land without end and he just might be a bit bigger than you expected. I wonder what he carries with him as he hops down the bunny trail?

On Sunday, March 31st, at 14:30 EST the Easter Hare will hop and bounce through the lands of Dura.

u The Easter Hare this year will have four good hops in him before he can hop no more.
u Easter Rabbits will proliferate, one for every person in the area, when the Easter Hare is trapped and killed.
u Easter Rabbits will be creatures which when killed will have spoils and treats that would match hopping all over the continent.

Happy Easter,
Dura Staff
