Underworld OT is Based on OTchaos 7.6


Underworld is NOT an OTChaos clone. Instead, we aim to be a true successor—taking the best elements of OTChaos (spells, quests, maps, items, and mechanics) and refining them into something better.

I know it seems impossible but I never played the original. With that mindset, this server is a clusterfuck of nonsense and lack of information.

Why do I have 3 different AOE spells that do about the same damage? Why does almost every sign lack any writing about where it takes you? Why do most of the npcs rarely tell you what they do or offer? Some will respond but some won't. How am I supposed to know the name of the cities at the boat?

The gear seems weird too. You spawn with a set of gear that I haven't replaced in 3 hours of actively playing because everything that drops is just money. Additionally, the gear that doesn't sell seems to be bad too. How is a 14 ATK sword dealing 3 damage supposed to compete with the wand I start with that deals 20k? Why am I even using a wand as what I presume to be a melee class? Are they any real distinctions from the classes if they all go around and just use UE spells to clear?

I have so many question but it will probably fall on deaf ears because most people here have played the original. But as an outsider, its difficult as hell to figure anything out. If I didn't have someone online telling me the basics, I'd probably have quit after an hour.
 
I can see how this would be confusing to someone who has never played chaos. I plan on introducing a wiki and a starter guide for new players. I can introduce more signs that make navigating the cities easier. Also the boat npc says in his dialogue to how to interact with him he will tell you all the cities he travels to. I think most npcs will tell you their job if you ask them. The gear, spells, and mechanics are the same as the original chaos. So let me preface this by saying OTChaos is very spell dependent. We have maintained the same type of gameplay. So even as a melee class in this server spells as a primary source of damage. Monsters drop better gear for example the chaos armor that you start with increases damage by 20%. The next upgrade is a blue robe this increases magic damage by 200%. Your feedback is invaluable. I appreciate it.

The wiki would be nice. Monsters dropping gear that is better is difficult to gauge because nothing on the gear really helps show how much better something is. I looted a jug mask and it has the same armor as my chaos helmet or maybe even one more or something. But I don't know if it gives me more damage or makes me much tankier. And if it does make me much tankier, does each point of armor matter more exponentially, because if so then wouldn't the horned helmet be better at 11 armor, or the helmet of the ancients? But its sellable which leads me to believe its not. The robe says it increases damage by 20% but it now you're telling me its 200%.

In general, it just feels like I'm wandering around lost and hoping that eventually I'll find something. If that's how the original server felt, then I guess that's fine for people looking for that nostalgia.
 
where do you see this? "The robe says it increases damage by 20%" Mine says this "This robe will greatly increase your magic power." Either way I can add descriptions to items with effects stating what they do.
