Combat Rework
Knights and Paladins rebalance.
Sword/Axe/Club skills merged into Melee fighting.
Two-handed weapons hit harder but sacrifice some defense.

Exp: 2x | Skill: 2x | Loot: 1x | Magic: 1x




~ Runes & Spells ~
Any vocation can craft any rune (if you have the magic level) - excluding Paralyze and SD.
No soul points needed & runes are buyable from NPCs at increased price.
Spells have no level requirements, only magic level (7.4 config).

I'll try it out, the custom features and rates look good so far. Also, +1 for auto-loot, I swear every server should get some form of it at this point, even if just for gold or a few slots.

A few questions:
Can runes and potions can be used from a hotkey? What about shooting runes at players from hotkeys?
Do knights use UHs or health potions?
Can you provide a bit more info on the knights/paladin re-balance?
Are there plans for custom maps/continents?

1. Yes, you can use and shoot runes from hotkeys.
2. Knights mostly stick to UHs for healing, but you can buy Health Potions (small) too. Some other potions drop from monsters, figured they wouldn't break the game that much.
3. Knight/Paladin details:
  • Two-handed weapons - less defense ~50%, but they hit harder, like ~20% more attack (depends on the weapon).
  • Knight’s minimum hit formula was a bit buffed (was 0, is now a bit calculated)
  • Skills for Knights and Paladins work better at higher levels with a little bit of a quadratic scaling (Damage-calculator - Mythibia (https://mythibia.online/damage-calculator)).
  • Items get stat boosts based on rarity, so one Plate Armor might be better than another.
  • Monsters got a little boost to physical damage to counter the item and HP changes.
  • Monster armor/defense was tweaked to work with dexterity (it cuts through armor and gives attack speed).
  • Overall the goal of this was to make Paladins and Knights more fun to play, but to see how exactly this plays out i need some more data.
  • Also maybe worth to add: If it feels wrong work can always be done, im not closed on suggestions at all. What was done was mostly what felt right to do based on experience from playing on other OT Servers. We held tests with some real nice people providing feedback to make it better.
4. Custom content:
  • Yes, there are plans to expand the map, introduce custom quests, custom spawns and overall improve the game with some fun mechanics (I like mysteriandos)
  • A few quests were modified a little bit - and some need some work (but everything was made sure to be completable before the time for the adjustments comes)
  • Work's being done on a system for super rare, one-time-drop items ('World Ending' really good items, they come from myths - hence the name, but that's mostly a concept now but is a priority to expand it once its stable)

Also at last because somebody on discord asked - There are no plans for resets or anything. What matters is to work towards a good quality and try to show the people that the ot is cared for. Of course things happen and it might go one way or another but as long as there's any sense in doing that, it will keep improving. This is supposed to be fun, hope it will.
