I recently tried to Install XP Pro on my laptop.
When I went to the boot menu, I set it to boot from the Disk Drive.
After than I waited for the menu's and it loading, but after it loaded,
It said "Windows XP" cannot locate any Hard Disk Drives on your PC.

What is the deal with that?
Am I doing something wrong?

I'm trying to Install XP Pro, replacing Vista.

Help anyone?

I talked to dell, they want 129 dollars for a "Phone conversation."
Screw that, Anyone know what my options are?

Before installing to XP, you need to have the windows XP drivers in a flash or somewhere.

Also search drivers for your computer, there should be a text in your disk with a number and then search drivers for "COMPAQ" and then the number here or maybe ur computer is HP/DELL or something.

Because XP has been around longer, more updates/fixes.
Also it will use less CPU, RAM, its faster...
It's better in the long run.

If its to much trouble,
I'll just re-install VISTA.

Either way, I'm gonna do one.

Life is short and We don'T live in the 80's anymore
Memory & else isn't expensive anymore.. So that doesnt really matter anymore..
And every windows works great on longtime runnings..
But only to install XP for otserver and such things is totally.. pathetic.. lol
Because then I'd prefer you to get a Linux disto

I'm not installing only for OT's LOL.
I use dedicated servers for that,
My whole business structure runs easier on XP.

Vista is fine, but I'd rather have xp, atleast for now.
