Hey guys, I was almost asleep, then I thought of an idea for a really cool system... I play Modern Warfare 2, so I thought... What if your weapons gain extra attack and stuff for melee weapons, or range and such for bows/crossbows and such... For killing a certain number of monsters... And if the monster is too weak for your given level, you don't gain any stats... And i could work with every monster and every weapon, or just select weapons and monsters or bosses... For example:
Level 25-40 monsters might include dragons and dragon lords, as well as some others...
I think instead of it being based on my level though, since that would make it difficult to use other weapons as well, I think each weapon should have a special level of usage/kills on it. When I mention that I'm a certain level in this example, it means my sword.
I have a spike sword, I am level 35. I kill 10 dragons/dragon lords and my spike sword gains more power. I kill 40 more dragons/dragon lords and my spike sword gains even more power. I kill another 75 dragons/dragon lords and it gains even more power. Now I'm level 41. I kill another 50000 dragons/dragon lords and my spike sword is still the same. I have to move onto the next set of creatures, which may include hydras and other stuff until level 60. I kill hydras and such now. After killing another 75 hydras and reaching level 41, I now have to kill another 100 hydras and then another 150 hydras and so on until reaching level 60 and each time I kill a specific amount, my spike sword grows even stronger. Eventually, I get to level 61 and kill loads of hydras, but I must move up the food chain because hydras are now too weak for my mighty blade. This keeps going on until I reach a certain level with my sword, at which point, no matter how many of whatever monster I kill, my sword will never get stronger again and it'll be at it's maximum strength. Each weapon should have it's own limit though, so maybe a spike sword goes to a level of like 100, then maybe a magic sword might get up to 150 or 200...
Features and configurables that I want:
1. Configurable limit on each weapon
2. Configurable monsters and levels you're able to kill them to gain stats for your weapon
3. Configurable weapons, the ability to choose which weapons can be used
4. Ability to use both melee weapons and distance weapons like bows and crossbows
5. Ability to have some sort of skill/usage level on individual weapons; different for each weapon you use instead of using a spike sword and being able to use that strength on any weapon
6. The stats have to save on the weapons so the player doesn't lose their progress
7. Must work with TFS 0.3.6+, including 0.4
Misc. features if possible.
1. If possible I would want it so the stats for each weapon only work if the weapon is in one of your hands, and that they save to a storage of some sort and can be called on at anytime so that the player can sell their spike sword and loot a new one and have the same stats on it when they use it so they aren't limited to only one weapon and so if they lose it, they don't have to start over.
If you think you can do this, tell me ahead of time... You'll definitely get Reputation for doing this, and if you're a donator, I'd be willing to go down to the bank, deposit some money, transfer it to my PayPal, and give it to you if it works the way I want it to.
I've got time to wait, so if you're in the middle of another project or something, take your time, but please tell me if you'll try it. If you think there's certain features that you can't make, let me know about that too.
Hope someone can help, cause I know this will make servers much more interesting for anyone who uses it.
