What can couse server to lag?

hey i have a gr8 dedicated but i dont know why my server lags like hell.. and one know? and how can i fix it?

i have alot of script that might be out of date some spells give errors i have fixed them...
it's in the usa but many more the me have lags even them i us!
networks speed is good i have 20 down and about 30-45 up
only in my net im sure i did speed test!
the server ain that cheap about 1300 euro or somting

I recommend for a good server, to script many things by yourself and test each script instead of copy all and make server online like most servers, thats why most servers got always same crash bugs or w/e

Server ain't lagging a server but freeze for a short period.

1) check ur cmd ping to the server IP.. run it with -t like

ping ~~ip~~ -t

After a while press ctrl + c and see the packet loss percentage etc - paste it here.

2) If you can (usually its supported), check in ur server administration panel how much CPU/ram etc is used.

3) Run some REALLY REALLY basic server like just compiled 0.3.6 TFS and see, if it will also lag. If it lags, then its cos of ur connection (I suppose there are no bad scripts in TFS..)

4) run cmd -> tracert ~~ip~~
Write the log to ur server provider.
For example, on my server, I had a problem where some player from Czech Republic lagged (little freezes from time to time). I pasted the tracert to my provider and he answered that there is bad connection for ppl whos packets goes over Telia in Sweden. He messaged Telia and they re-routed all those packets from Czech. I am fine now

Yeh well i never understood the tracert logs so dunno if there is everything OK.. However Id say that a ping over 145ms is pretty high for playing Tibia - it is playable, but a lag can happen from time to time. Try running the clean TFS distro and see if it also lags. If it does, then send the hosting support ur tracert log.

Anyway, what was ur reason to buy a server in USA when u are in Sweden and probably want ur friends playing there?

Your from sweden and the server is in usa, ofcourse it will lagg.

it depends where the players live irl
I'm assuming you got mostly swedish players, therefore it will lagg for them but for someone who lives in USA won't lagg. You can have a very very good dedicated and it will still lagg, that's why there's europe versions on some games and America versions and so on.

First try the clean TFS distro.. then contact provider

he probably miss spelled it and wanted to say 130euro. Yet for a 130 euro i could get a 100in and out and a nice procs and ram to go with it. So for the price you'r paying your dedicated sucks ball&^.
