What OS is better?

Fedora core, centos or ubuntu.

Any of the first four are good.
NetBSD or FreeBSD would be better, but, well, most places don't offer that.

You might have issues getting the packages for Fedora/CentOS to build OTServ.

I personally doesn't like NetBSD, FreeBSD is nice (like Gentoo, you also got Gentoo/BSD).

Secondly what makes you think Fedora causes problems? I ran realms on Fedora just fine.
