Why is it possible to report yourself?

Why wouldn't you? what if you want a thread closed, deleted or moved?
 
You'd instead tell a mod about that, reporting isn't supposed to be a source of communication with mod(s).
 
So when you want to change name,close theread etc a mod has the link to it :).

you can report your own thread to get it closed, it's how it works bro.
 
Alright, wasn't really arguing but just seeking the fact why such an option is available.
