Zagan Square - Server renewal. Tibia 7.6 + Custom

100% PAY2WIN? Why? Because I don't want to give all spells for free?

Yes, this is a strong indicator that paying gives a great advantage. There is no reason that some spells should only be allowed if you pay, that makes it pay to win. Other than that, the establishing a guild, and owning a house, those things don't keep the normal players from being able to join guilds, or store items in their depots... so those things don't really provide an outlandish advantage to the users who are paying.. the bit of QoL features that speed the game up tho, like "flying carpet" which is basically just paid teleports to spawns for your server, that again is something that gives a nice advantage to the person who is paying...

If the paid users have a big advantage, then its pay to win.

I'm not dissing you, your plans, or your business model... I'm only saying, he happens to be right, its pay to win from the players perspective.

I appreciate your comment. Have you ever played Tibia? I think so, since Pacc came into play, it has always been a PAY2WIN game. Am I right? Now it is more Pay2Win than before because you have a whole store with potions, boosts and other things. Times have simply changed and so has the approach to games. Nobody ever had a problem with the fact that you had to pay to play and fully enjoy the game on a server like in the days of 7.4-7.6 servers. And those servers also required a premium account to use all spells. That is the price of old servers on old protocols. I will not introduce cosmetic things like character appearances or the color of the carpet in the house, because you can get all the things in the game, you just have to want to drop them. You wrote about flying carpets. Do you think that if you fly on such a carpet, you are faster than someone by who knows how much time and you immediately have a teleport to a great place? It's not like that, it gives you a faster way to get to the place, but to get to the target place you still have to cover a certain distance on foot and face obstacles. It's not like you're immediately at the exp where you're going to exp. I know that servers look different now than they used to and run a different business to make money and give you a free game without investing, but despite the free premium account, they have a lot of things that will speed up your skills, character speed (e.g. Mount), access to certain places without wasting time in the game. Most people don't see it because they're used to this form of things, and it doesn't bother them, and it's more harmful and poorly balanced, compared to the fact that you buy Pacc once (and not too much) and enjoy the game 100% and everything you gain, achieve, spend time on, will be only your merit and your wallet. This server is to be based on the rules based on version 7.6 and I also want to return to how it used to be, and how it was only possible to buy Pacc on the server. Without any seasons, without any updates, where there is a server reset. I have money and for me this server can stand for 5 people, if they feel satisfaction from the game, then I will try to diversify the game for them. And it's not about business and earning money because I don't need it, it's just about giving people good fun.

100 percent tibia is and has always been (since premium was a thing that gave you access to better hunting grounds :D) a pay 2 win game.

I don't wish to debate whether QoL changes make the game pay 2 win or not. If you want to give premium users QoL perks, then by all means do exactly that my friend. I don't see anything wrong with it, I never said there was anything wrong with it... I merely said, it is pay 2 win from the players perspective, and that will always be true.

Just because your game is viewed as a "pay to win" doesn't mean it has to be stigma. Many people love and accept the "subscription" model as perfectly ok, and even desirable sometimes, especially in games where competition is high. As you already pointed out, Tibia is a perfect example of exactly this truth.

I will never play tibia with out premium :D

Every Creator, no matter how hard he tries at the beginning, will sooner or later want to make money on it in some way, because after all he has spent so much time on it, so why shouldn't he monetize it in some way? I introduce Pacc and only Pacc to also get something from this time spent on it, and so that the server can pay for itself, without me constantly adding to it. For example, the Map. I have devoted over 1000 hours of editing to it, and so far I have not had anything from it, only my satisfaction that it looks the way I would like it to, and I could just as well spend those 1000 hours at work and earn much more than this server will ever earn. I do it out of passion, not a desire for profit, but unfortunately a fool would not monetize something that has been devoted to it for so long.

The city has also recently undergone changes to more closely resemble the old version of the game, and most importantly. Train Monks are no longer on the server.
