If I walk away from my laptop......I turn it upside down.
One of my old laptops use to have serious over heating problems... the only way I could be sure it wouldn't overheat was to turn it upside down while I was away! It stuck.
My current laptop rear vents...it doesn't even have vents underneath.....what is wrong with me =(

HAHA, omg back in Dial up days. (Which for us was what.. 4 years ago?xD)
I used to have a laptop that had the same issues, one of the old trackpad HPs', and it had the hinge screens so I had to rest the back of the screen against a wall so it didn't fall. And I had to leave it upside down as well when it got hot, because it used to burn the plastic on the laptop.
