Runes are no more:
Welcome forged elements!
header_745_magicka.jpg

¤ Introduction ¤

:)
Hello guys and gals!, you may not know who i am, im usually hanging around in "the other place". But anyways to the thread.
As you see from above its a concept art from the game "Magicka".
I assume the most of you have played it, but i'll still explain to you unknowing fellows.

^_^
Magicka is a game where you can team up with a total of 4 players as a mage
to save the work from trolls, goblins and Chuck Norris.
You play the game by forging diffrent elements in a max number of 5 total elements
which results of diffrent kind of spells and attributes. Often the elements get stronger
the more you stack the same element. You can also have "collected" magics where you have a certain combination to trigger a special spell that you gained information from
which are rather more unique compared to the normal spell forged by elements.

¤ The Tibia Verision ¤

Tibia has a pretty boring overall casting system of spells, you say the words and you cast your spells, It made the game too easy sometimes to play, You get easily bored
of it. So what if you took the system from magicka and OpenTibia in a bowl, put it in bowl
then mix the f*ck out of it, What do you get? "MagickaOnSteriods!" *Raises to the skies*.
I have thought of the possibilities with OpenTibia and tried to push it a bit to the limit.

Great thing you can acctually do with OTs, And you may wonder how would this
system work on such a limited client like tibia? Well lets say this system involves the
mouse alot more. Did you ever know that you can execute scripts when you "Look" at
objects? You can actually get the position, the object you are looking at, even the
distance. This allows you to do alot more to quick casting, but also more risk for failure.

How do we forge the elements?, By saying the name of the element, as a
talkaction. They will display the element "signature" effect and as well as the name.
popping up in a colored text. to see what elements you forged, you simply forge an element. And Some letters will pop up. Each element has its own capital letter which represents its position and stack. Since it pops up at a animated text message it can only be 10 characters long, So you can stack up to amazing 10 elements. However, We need
to make it a bit more RPG so this is how it would work:

# Your maximal stack value increases with one slot each 6 magic level, Starting at 1 slot.
Any vocation can use any spell as long as they fill up the requirements.
This means that knights with low magic rate can maximum stack 4 elements and the
power and range of the spell will never increase high enough as a mage can. Therefor
this will be applied also.

# Enchanting weapons give close combat spell which are more dependant on your
weapon than your magic level. Enchanting weapon is simply made by looking at your
weapon, which makes it a once-time cast when you attack an opponent within 30
seconds.

# Here it isnt the casting that drains mana, its the number of elements forged.
An element will drain the position of the element * its cost to forge.
So forging for example 4 lightning would be 20*1 + 20*2 + 20*3 + 20 * 4

# Creating runes will be more crucial if trading with other players. Since you only have
limitation to 4 base elements, Some elements can be useful combining.
Casting runes give a cooldown for about 15 seconds but takes no mana.
Creating runes with certain elements takes the mana for casting * 3.

# Forging elements, Since there are 12 basic elements we can actually make a total of 4
tiers of forged elements. Each tier unlocks for each promotion you pass.

# Spellbooks have an completly new task here, You actually learn "normal" spells by
collecting pieces of tomes with the combinations to cast those spells.
These tomes are rare and often contain strong spells, Any player can learn them.
And also unlearn them and trade it to other players when needed.
Casting these spells is made by using a wand or staff when having the elements in
memory.

So enough with the boring stuff Here are the elements:

¤ The Elements ¤

The Base Elements:

Fire:

Fire is one of the normal elements to fire, Thier damage is low, but they have an bigger
chance to set you on fire when the more elements are stacked.

Water:

Water is a special element, It can push creature from you by a chance, and also can
make people drown and put out fires, The damage is pretty low

Lightning:].

Lightning is a strong element with high damage and high mana cost.
They dont leave any effects, mostly just have a small range and heavy damage.
They are amplified if the target is drowned:
You can not combine Lightning with Water, Since they are opposites.

Air:

Air is a weak element, often used for melee combat to increase speed and push people
away. but they can also cause "storms" which set the targets direction out of order.

Earth:

The massive power under us is massive, Can enpower almost any physical attack and
also act as a projectile or shield, Has a high mana cost, but has alot of variation.

Holy:

This element is a quite useful element, yet difficult to handle.
It can heal you or damage you depending on what combination you have.

Death:
The vicious element that is only used for one purpose.
Killing.

Shield:

This is a special element that can not be stacked with it self.
It edits the attributes of other spells to actually surround you instead of pinpoint your target. Which means, combine this to make Surround spells.
It can also create "shells" that resists damage of the elements you combine with.
The more you stack, the more it protects from it.

Arcane:

This element is a element which is quite offensive, but in combination of other elements.
The more types of elements you combine, the more it multiplies the damage.

Life:

Life is the element which focuses on healing life and removing bas conditions.
Often when combining with other elements it can heal statuses.
But combining to many other elements can cause it to colapse and really, really hurt you.

Poison:

This element focuses on nothing else than suffering, Long and painful living.
Its like a pig watching englishmen each bacon to thier breakfast.

Creation:

This special element is made for conjuring things. Everything from a toilet to
a living flame.
This is the required element to forge runes.

Forged Elements:

Forged elements are actually pairs of diffrent types of base elements.
They replace two other combined elements and takes up two slots.
Forged elements can be deactivated by command.

Ethreal
Combination: Life and Death

This strange forged element is hard to master. It can do tremendous damage.
It can also pierce any kind of wall.

Ice:
Combination: Water and Air

This strong and chilly elements has the ability to freeze its opponent.

Curse:
Combination: Arcane and Poison

This is a spell that reduses creatures attacks, It simply makes it alot
easier to take down
opponents.

Force:
Combination: Shield and Earth

This element is pure manpower, Can push of any creature and also Amplify the damage
of any weapon to godlike proportions, Though, it can slow yourself.

Nova:
Combination: Fire and Lightning

This is the sorcerers favorite. The demonic energy that has nothing else than destruction.
Its even worse than a creeper. :3

Divine:
Combination: Holy and Creation

This element is the most pure it can be, It can revive creatures, teammates.
heal anything. Even raise you back from the dead.

Fused Elements:

These elements are strong, and require 3 slots to be forged, they will drain more mana
when forged.

Time:
Combination: Earth, Life, Water

This element has the ability to stop time, even block paths from passing.

Space:
Combination: Holy, Death, Air

This is the master element that can control space. It allows you to teleport things
to you, if they are within reach.

Oblivion:
Combination: Poison, Arcane, Lightning

This is the darkest and most deadly element. It can destroy almost anything.
But it costs you alot of damage also.

Spirit:

This is the force that created life. It can strengthen any of your party members
Summon almost anything and also shield against anything for a time period.

Sacred Elements:
These elements are unknown to the common man, They take up 4 slots of the list.
and it is said that there three elements have the power to even change the structure of the universe.
The elements were so powerful, noone was able to control they yet to date.
It couldnt even contains its power before it collided into other types of energy.

I wont really spoil everything in one post. ;)

Feel free to comment anything in this post. I always have room for more ideas. :D

Awesome Ideas as expected from Mindrage!

Is this a new Idea apart from your arcane spells libs?

Well, This is another system that is based upon the arcane lib, This also would have alot more activity when playing. I like interactivity on rpgs :)

This looks amazing! =o Id play this in a heart beat.

Also i love the way you worded alot of this lol

Do you plan to release samples for this system to the public or keep it in your own private project?

the stupid one is that you already posted all combinations, it ruins fun of adventuring them by players itself. Also sounds fun but i bet you will get 40 people max online.

Those were ideas, I can always change it, and make other elements :)
This is only a concept, Im not producing it, For me to make it, I needed some source edit, Since I need something called global tables.
There is a problem with accessing tables from other events,

Making a global table in Actions, should be able to get to trough the CreatureEvents, But since OTserver hasnt done anything about it, i have to use a global table instead.
