Everytime you die you log out.
Everytime you log out you already save your char.

So. Even if there would be a rollback, he would still lose his items and levels, because he logged out and saved his char.

He defenetly lost his items and lvl..but if the server lagged/crashed right after the kill then you didn't get the exp/items saved from the kill.
