Depends what your mojo is.

If you like to hunt and team hunt without disturbance, then play optional-PVP.
If you like to war and kill other people and lose a ton of levels, then play open-PVP.

People don't understand that you can still kill others on optional, but it's a team effort. That's why I like optional more than PVP.
PVP is fun, but all you do is power abuse and kill other people for no reason. Optional is more organized and I like it.
