This project has boggled my mind for at least a year, and I think it's time to start it.

Features:

It will feature the entire middle-earth, from The Shire in the west to Mordor in the east.
A unique website with features you have never seen before.
Loads of quest lines, including some major quests as seen or read in the books/movies.

Races:

The races will be divided into two alliances:

"The good side"

Elf
Will start in a forest near Rivendell
Human
Will start somewhere in Rohan
Dwarf
Will start near Erebor
Hobbit
Will start in The Shire

"The bad side"

Orc
Will start somewhere in Mordor
Goblin
Will start deep inside the misty mountains
Uruk-hai
Will start near Isengard
Trolls
Will start somewhere in Mirkwood


They will each spawn in different areas and will do quests that are appropriate for their race.

It would be very fun to play such a server if it was well-made!

It would be important for it to have a unique feeling in the gameplay tho, so that it doesn't feel like a casual reamap with just another map and quests

It will be unique, that's for sure. All I will be using is tibia's game engine :)
 
lotr server? That would be awesome but it requires so much work the project will die before it's ready :/
 
Sounds interesting.. However would be much cooler if Tibia had music and sound effects. (It ain't hard to make though)
 
Wasn't there a project similar to this? Where they made the map big enough to simulate the time that it took for Frodo and his entourage to reach Mordor? I can't find the thread, might've seen it on otfans . net a while back.

Indeed there was, but it died. But I will remake it, and it is going to become even better!
 
The ultimate quest could be reaching mordor to destroy the ring, haha, this could be quite interesting, might think of joining and starting back.

Well, when that is done, what is there to do? I want to put together all stories, like in The Hobbit. Their quest is to take back Erebor from the wrathful dragon Smaug.
 
Just following the storyline of the movie seems pretty boring, you should add sidequests and such so that you have to make quests to upgrade your equipment perhaps until you're ready. I don't know, sounds cool though.
