Just wondering, but what does everyone think about how all the new servers that have basically been coming out.. are all evo-ot or real tibia map ots. i really wanna know some opinions, cause it seems like having only the same types of maps to play would get a little boring :x

All servern is downloaded... Evo/Rl Map

They just run it....

Map it yourself then? I mean, mapping isn't really that hard and if you need help there's tons of nice people willing to assist :)
 
well some of the evo maps are edited a bit, but still its not like it really changes things up, i think people should just start getting more creative. The ot community doesnt need 1000 server that are all the same..
 
Almost 99% of servers since 7.6 have been download & run servers, so that isn't the problem. It's all the donations that give players unfair advantages, and those servers that don't need donations but get them anyway.

I can see a server that's completely custom with a dedicated host asking for donations, it's when all these download & run servers ask for them that it gets stupid.

very true, if ur one of those people that just download and run.. u dont even deserve the donation u might as well give all the donations to the person who created the server that u ran because they didnt put no effort into it themselves.

agreed. kids thinking they can run a server just by throwing it up and getting donations its not right to be taking others and putting them on those servers rather then the servers that have time put into them...
 
i looked at it, and its really nothing special, some items edited here and there maps edited a bit.. still doesnt seem like u really put a lot of time into it over these 10 months

Yes, Alot of server are Download & run server, but not all? I know alot of friends, they have work alot in Real-map! So stop write "All" Its not true! You got also Suicide map ? its that not a download & run server?

hey tough guy i didnt say every server thrown up with this stuff is download and run, so before u post think about what ur saying, im just referring to those that are

I have a slow moving personal expansion for the official TFS map, so far I have expanded noobie island and has 80% expanded/fixed the snow region of the map, and since I'm a novice scripter I plan to make all sorts of stuff for it.

I can't agree with you on that one mate! The server looks really nice, If he has done so much on his own, then it is really something! At least he got something more finished then a rotworm cave. Look at all of those showoff threads, people waste hours or a simple rotworm cave to hunt, only to find it being big enough for 1 person to hunt at, or making a fancy,fully detailed city only to find it having 5-10 buyable houses or streets too narrow for 2 players to walk.

People usually put donations that because "server's worth it", you people can't possibly think donations are cuz the server's "worth" to play lol. It's a business, and people earn big ammount of money for it. It's a BUSINESS! and a damn good one :x.

Creating a server from scratch requires a lot of time and a good team. And as we all know, OTS are dying slowly, why? Because most of the original developers are already 20+ year old, and that's just a bit too much to be focused on games and virtual world rather than the real world and all the beauty it has :). People are simply bored of all the attempts of creating something only to find 80% of the team quitting or changing projects etc.And all the "download and run" servers offer you a ready product which only needs "run.exe" button to be alive :)
