Okay so this is the story...

Ive been trying for a few days 2 set up an ot server with aac (SQL.)
The thing is i keep getting errors like all the time on the page i have no idea why and i
was following the tutorial word by word still i keep getting some random errors on highscore, create character and stuff.

A few years ago when i was really into OT i remember it was like pretty much the same thing some random errors etc with SQL but when i tried XML it worked like a charm...
Btw im running Windows 7 64bit if that has something to do with anything.

So i was wondering is it just me doing something really wrong or do you guys get errors aswell? And what is the difference between SQL and XML good and bad sides etc?

I would really appreciate some answers and if someone could help me out it would be great!

In my opinion, Sql is better than Xml,

u can find many tutorials how to set up a server.
so search in otland.net
or google.com

Thanks for reply but as i mentioned i have checked out tutorials, word by word following it but i still get these really annoying random errors.
so i don't think that will help me =/

Are they the "Line" errors. If so you have to go into some files and delete the "notes". However I haven't done it in a while, but just google your error and you should find solutions.

SQL is much easier for the server to proccess, imagine 150 players hunting, gaining exp, skill tries, new items, storage ids and stuff, imagine how's that for server to process trough XML... SQL is much easier and has been made to handle such, and much bigger demands

What kind of error does it give? What program do u use to run MySQL?

Thanks for clarifying the the basic differences between SQL and XML. As you saw in my OP it was random errors highscore error create character error and stuff like that... I can't post the exact errors because i deleted the stuff (got mad after my fifth try :< ). I was checking out Znotes tutorial and it worked pretty much flawful until i had the AAC up i got a huge problem, after i filled in the char name pass etc and then i clicked the register button it just kept loading nothing happened ;S I also tried nicaws AAC guide same shit different errors...

Well that's pretty much it. If you got any good tutorial you know work flawfully i would really appreciate it so feel free 2 post =)

Instead of trying to fix the problems that are beyond your reach yourself, post them here in the Support section. Along with some basic details/info like your server version and the website script you're trying to use, of course.

On a side note, you're much less likely to experience weird behaviour with server-related things if you use an older OS like XP, a Windows Server OS, or Linux, but I'm sure all of your problems wouldn't be too hard to fix.
