Hello, welcome to the all-public discussion on these two browsers that the more you recommend, which is better!

Firefox supports Win2k-Win7, Mac and Linux. IE9 supports only 2 OSes (excluding their server editions)

that's 1 for firefox

Why only those 2 browsers there? I mean, whats the point not having Chrome in that poll? :]

Alright, I'll choose Firefor then because it is open source and it had more innovative functionalities before IE.

I use Firefox instead of Chrome only because of the addons :p but Chrome is hardware accelerated using OpenGL even on old XP

I use Chrome because its well integrated with Google products, there are much useful things that worked quickere only in new Chrome releases, like GMail notifications without any extension plus many HTML5 features was firstly introduced in Chrome. Also OpenGL is good thing. Next reason was clean interface they introduce, but latest Firefox 4 also got it, so in that point they should be equal now, but still I like Chrome interface more, don't know why. Plus their password sync build in and thats pretty all I need. Anyway, latest Fox is looking very well, it has many new features that was firstly only in Chrome, so I am going to give it a try. About addons: I thought most of the Firefox addons have their Chrome extension replacements? Isn't that true? : p

there is a decent amount of replacements, but i think it's an overstatement to say 'most'

Yep, thats true, planty of time to pass before it will be fully ported. However I didn't miss anything in my Chrome, and I got more than 50 extensions.

@sorry for offtopic, lets keep discussion focused on FF & IE now.

Why IE still exists is something that no great thinker could solve.

Chrome beats all, but since it's only between firefox and IE, ofc firefox 25 - 2 obvious poll is obvious.

enjoy baby tier HTML5 support.
about those microsoft's comparisons of IE9's capabilities to capabilities of other browsers, they've only included stuff that they've managed to get working. it still doesn't pass many browser tests.
