Hello, i am a beginner mapper, Mapping since a Few days...
I Hope i can learn Mapping here :D
I will post My work here and i am happy about any help Or advice from an experienced mapper :D

Okay, here is a few tips:
First of all.
when you are printing frm the mapeditor, remove the spawns and shade ( press q and s)
second of all: remove the mapeditor. i just wanna see the map... xd (print then remove the mapeditor)

try to map more like a natural shape, not so squarly like this. read some tutorials and look at the other mappers work here on otland!

or.. press F11 and go to My Documents/My Pictures/RME.
 
What i usualy did in the beginning, was autoborder, and then RAW my borders a bit, by deleting and adding in RAW
Try to do that too...
Do something about your shapes, not just squares, but stuff pulling in and popping out!
And more details, as tufts, stones...
And also press F11

You should follow that link James posted, it might help you
Also try to get inspired by taking a look on other mappings, or check how other mapper place details, since imo becoming a "basic mapper" is about adopting common style
