I doubt protecting against DDOS on OTServers would be much different from protecting against it on any other host... Just google how to protect against DDOS, I'm sure you'll find what you need

Linux and IP tables.. best way..
You ban all DDos Ips by the tables... and if your internet is strong enough and the attack small enough... maybe none in the server would notice.

On my pride days with EliteOTs Classic the server could handle 2 000 Zombies without anyone online noticed..
Though when it passed 3 000 they started to feel the laggs.. because the IP table didn't ban fast enough

Anyway, google for linux and try to learn it.. it's completely different than windows.. even if it seem to be similar.
