Heya guys, recently I've started playing GTA IV.

So basically my problem is that my cpu temp is going crazy only with this game.

The average is between 65-75, max is 75.

So I am wondering is that dangerous to run on 75c or even 80c?

Also is it possible to control my cpu fan?

Please don't suggest me buying water cooling because I won't really :)

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely

Rush Crush

I forgot to say, my gpu temp is 65-70 but for the GTX 560 2gb it's totally normal I believe.

Also I forgot to mention my cpu is i5 2400(I know I am dumb because if I added 20$ I would have gotten the I5 2500k...)

I tried it and I can't control my fan speed at all

Someone must help me :(

If you are using the stock heatsink then those temps are normal. You should worry once it gets to the 90s. And F F S, buy a cheap heatsink like a 212+..

yfw Cykotitan has stock HS on an i7 860 and it always reaches 99c~ on minor load.

mfw it hasn't died yet.

core temps are between 94-99 with GTA IV, and both GPUs go over 80°C (they said 5770s are supposed to be cold cards)

D: my laptop is always in 50's when doing nothing, when i play mw3 or skyrim it reaches 70~80's, i bought a cooler and it does nothing, but I think those temps are normal, when you see it get higher than 80 just let it rest :P

When I try to use that program it doesn't show "Speed"

GTA IV really bursts both cpu and gpu on a hot date, don't worry, play until your computer shuts down.

Won't do it either.

My cpu fans just stands on 1080RPM or lower from what I can see on my Intel utility program.

And in that program it says 8k is the maximum fan speed but Won't even go over 1.1k

Did you try finding some options, settings in the bios?
What motherboard do you have?

Did you upgrade the CPU after you purchased the computer? If not, your fans just suck ass. I'd go buy another fan, cut a whole in the side of your Desktop case and install it. Bad ventilation can lead to serious problems.

Edit: That picture is way too big, lmao.

If you mean like fans on the sides and not the cpu fan I already have 3.

and this cpu fan came with the processor so I don't see how it sucks ass.

I am trying to buy a liquid cooling system, but I am afraid of 2 things.

Not knowing how to install it because my case is too small.

The liquid dripping on the motherboard by a processing failure destroying my motherboard.

I wasn't talking about the "CPU fan". If you have three other fans on your computer already, it shouldn't be this hot. Do you have one blowing out or all just blowing in?

Maybe your CPU can't handle gaming. You get what you pay for. ^_^

I guess they are all blowing in, but seriously have you read what I said the fans RPM won't go above 1.1k.

The max is supposed to be 8k.

So it's obviously not my cpu at all.

That has got to be the worst advice.

@Rush, I think 70's is a little above normal for a CPU, but okay. As someone said earlier, if it reaches 90's you better stop playing, lol.

Actually GTA IV is the only game which did that, for example while playing skyrim my gpu would be getting raped while my cpu is standing on 60-65c

I just wanna know how to control my cpu fan, tried everything you guys told me but won't work.
