simple reason, MS bought Skype, so they now have 2 IM clients(WLM and Skype), so they are choosing the most active/used one, its a smart and good move, doesn't mean I'll like it :/

The only bad thing about it is that since MS bought Skype the client has started becoming shit overtime .

I've been using Pidgin instead of WLM for that same reason
