Seriously, I'm out of my mind and I want in yours...

Kidding. Here's the deal:

I am making a real map server. Thing is, I was never much good at tibia, only ever did quests and played around with little curiosities.

What does a real map server NEED to be fun? I know the details I want already, not too fast, staged experience that lets you experience ALL of Tibia. I want to get most of the quests working, but where do I start?

Tell me what you are going to log in and look for. What are you immediately after when you log in to a real map server? Certain quests? Certain events? That one perfect hunting spot (that needs to be perfect)?

I don't want it to have the feel of a throw away server, where you make a character, kill some n00bs, then hit otservlist.org again... I want people to be able to be proud of their characters, laugh when they almost die, feel like they gain something moving from scale -> upgrading to plate armor. I want people to feel the great parts of tibia, without having to pay, or play for years to get the awesome character.

The right mix of slowing down for the good stuff, with speeding to the best parts.

This is mostly for me and my friends, I may launch it if it becomes awesome.

Am I making any sense? Is this thread even ALLOWED? I have never asked the community for anything before, so please be broad (rather than specific), be kind (rather than hasty) and be amazing (like otland always is).

Links are great (if you know of good places to find must-have script systems or NPCs or Gnome monsters)

Thing is gonna be 9.6 rl map (as I said before). If you feel like taking a look at what I have so far Private message me on here and I will consider sending over what I have so far. (hoping you will add to it and send it back lol.) <- this is a lot to ask, please feel free to just drop some advice and bail from this thread. If you feel like fixing easy problems, checking over my crazed work, and laughing at a noob scripter while helping out a dreamer, a guy who just wants to show his friends and wife why he loves tibia, then maybe you'll think about checking over my data folder...

Most of the time DH, POI, etc are standard. I appreciate the advice, I'll make sure they are tested!. As that goes, what other (...think lower lvl) quests would you want to see?

Most people do overlook the vocations issue. I will make sure I check it, thanks!

Desert quest, elemenetal spheres quest, in service of yalahar, crusader, noble armor, behemot quest.
Another thing do the mounts like rl, Task of Grizzly Adams.

If you want to get addons like rl with piece of items, you need an some npcs, like rl or only one exchancer.

Events like Last Man Standing, Rush Event, Zombie Event, Dota, WOE, Guild Tournaments.

Nice idea, and I think I can already picture how the postman quest works, so I think it's going in there.

I really appreciate the suggestion Zatjin.

One thing is, cipsoft likes to make experience and gold making move slowly, certain quests need updated/enhanced prizes. Like grizzly adams. All that work and 600 exp?

What quests would you change? What would you add if anything?

IMO, you could make the OT really good, here's an example of my toughts while joining a OT.

To see many raids active, but not easy tho.
Ferumbras hat and shit should be rare, no addon doll or shit.
Atm playing reptera and to get rares it's really hard. Been playing there 4 weeks and had my luck today and killed Morgaroth.
1 morg in 4 weeks, that is kinda rare.
Like those boss spawns it should be 1 morga/feru/ghaz/orsha each week, not more. and also active draptor raids n shit

Denix, thanks. Wow, really.

Way to be precise, this is advice I can use. My wife and I have been playing the beginnings of what I have.

I have set up stages where you are on rook for a while, long enough to get 20ish skills and try goblin temple... Then lvl 8 you go to main, stages raise a bit, not too fast. We have played about 30 full hours at it and maybe lvl 35.

I enjoy all the little things about Tibia, I want those back. If I had to guess, I would say a PG could hit lvl 200 in a week and a half. This is about what I want.

People never have to prepare for quests on OTs they just run out with infinite rune, infinite potions and infinite bolts and they're done with the game in a week.

I have really enjoyed this with my wife. We did all the little quests around Thais, some Grizzly Adams quests, been decorating a house in Ab'Dendriel, it's been so FUN!

You will never find on this server that you advance two levels at once, I hate seeing that more than anything!

"You have advanced from level 23 to level 127." Are people really this lazy? That's not gameplay, that's "button pushing".

"Congratulations you clicked the button, here's a million points." It's like playing a crappy pinball machine.

EDIT: Additionally, I have (I think) found a good enough skill rate that it advances with your level, so no need for trainers. I am level 35 with about 65 skills. Seems right, right? I like it. It's challenging and simple, uniquely old school, and not too much like standing too close to a painting until you can't see the bigger picture.
