Guess again by looking at the title of your thread.
Xedrai had a projet called Middle-Earth back at OTFans
and a thread also here:

As you know OTFans got served with a database crash and all thats left from this project is this google search:

Yeah? I just typed what came up in my mind. First it was "Middle Earth Project" then I added a hyphen between "Middle" and "Earth".

I think you will need a great deal of spriters to undertake this task, I know Xedrai took many many moons to do what he has done his map is enormous and he has a lot of sprites.
However I would have a mass geek attack if an actual project like this made it to release I would love it, I wasn't trying to put dampeners on the project just means you will be competing with the others out there.

you might be better off starting with MS paint and then convert the image into a mini map. I know some time ago someone made a tool which could convert a picture into a map. Better yet try sweet talking xedrai and get his map or work together with him. This is a huge project and your starting from square one. There is an abandoned project which has a strong base to start with if possible.
I used BitMapToMap to convert an image into a map. Now I'm working on borders and rivers. I'll try to contact Xedrai.

I would love to see some sprites!
This is sort of a "wall" for a hobbit hole.

Sadly not, but that is excuseable since you aren't familiar with mapping, almost every square is nature/doodad'd palette :/ looks bad XD
