With the achievement system coming out soon (next 7 mintues), I decided to go for my OWN achievement, Parcel King: Make a beautiful parcel castle.

Oh good someone else has it too. I was starting to think it was just me since no one said anything when I logged back in.
 
Normal monsters in dungeons will no longer drop anything. (This should fix the issue with players botting dungeons to bypass the mini-game)

That's wrong. Normal monsters should drop items and gold, but there should be time limit to finish dungeon like in mini-game or arena. I think 30-60 min would be enough and if you won't finish dungeon in that time you are kicked to temple and get penalty exp.

I am assuming higher level dungeons will require a lot more work, with solving puzzles and navigating the dungeon. A time limit should not be put on because the first team or players completing the dungeon without previous guidance will need ample time to figure it out. I see no need for monsters in dungeons to drop items (unless i intended to bot inside the dungeons) as long as the dungeon rewards will be modified now to also give lock boxes and dusty spell tomes as possible rewards.

If you can give me 1 legitimate reason why I should put a time limit in the dungeon and make players rush instead of just giving the loot once the dungeon is finished...?

30-60 mins should be for first and second dungeon, later maybe more time for higher lvl dungeon. But if not, then reward from boss should be like were before + at least 1k gold and chance for books and lockbox.

Because before ppl try to kill monsters for some gold and items, now we need only to run as fast as possible to boss and kill it, nothing else. Changing something, because of botters is wrong way to deal with problems. Warning and ban would work better on them than changing something in game.

So instead of changing the loot and making it drop from the end boss, I should instead change the way dungeons work completely and give a time limit. Not to sound rude but, I really don't feel a time limit is fair at all... If a few friends start playing and want to creep their way through the dungeon they should damn well be able to do so.

Honestly either way I look at this situation the end result is the same, people do the dungeon and they get the loot. That is the real objective anyway isn't it? And yes you can loot a few items here and there on the way through the dungeon but the main reward is the loot from the final kill anyway. I really can't comprehend why anyone would want to farm monsters inside the dungeon, they have 10x more hp than a normal mob of its level because they are only placed in a dungeon to obstruct the path. If you really enjoy killing monsters for loot why not go hunt something hard around the world?

P.S.
I hope a debate does not discourage you from telling it from your point of view, I do not just up and change things because a player snaps his/her finger. And furthermore this is a pretty large aspect of the server we are discussing so I want to make sure that the choice is a good one before implementing it.
 
Eh, the only reason for a time limited dungeon would be to challenge the players puzzle solving skills, and to make the dungeons whole purpose to test the player(s) in that way.

And it could be REALLY fun. But a dungeon like that would be more or less trying to break out of a prison or maze, or break your way into a locked treasure room, and the game play mechanics would revolve around figuring out puzzles, finding the best path to the end, and less about 'MASH MONSTERS' though monsters themselves could be apart of puzzles.. such as flame throwers, monsters that pull you back, slowing monsters.. just, they would be puzzle related or progress slowers, rather than 'kill them' monsters.

But even in that scenario, the rewards would be given AFTER you beat the dungeon, not during it.. beating the end boss, or unlocking the treasure room, or finding your way through the maze is when you get the rewards, not while you are being challenged. You must BEAT the challenge (dungeon) to be rewarded.
 
Okay so I just hunted Wyrms for over 3 hours and ended up with no loot. I've now killed about 350 wyrms and have only looted 3 t6, 2 of which were cracked and broke on 1st or 2nd reforge, and no spells. That is pretty ridiculous, I don't want to spend my whole day hunting and end up with shit. Those are supposed to be hard as fuck and they don't drop anything.

Is the server suppose to last a week, or rather months and possibly years?

I'm not trying to demoralize you, but I think that if the loot was really fast, it would be result in people getting to the end too fast, and making it impossible for Xagulz to keep up with creating content.

You should just play the server as a hobby, and not as a competition, and be happy whenever you get ANY equipment, rather than worrying about how your time management is.. the longevity of the game (for you) would increase massively..
 
I understand what you're saying but when someone is hunting a creature that is extremely hard at the moment it should drop something decent in 3 hours. I don't want the loot to be extremely fast but 3 hours and nothing is complete bullshit. Not to mention that even if you manage to loot something it's usually trash so you have to reroll it and most likely breaks before it get's decent stats.
 
Update

  • Fixed a bug where Queen Maw summons would give massacre bonus.
  • Characters will now tell players around them that their stamina is low and they are about to be teleported to a mini-game.
  • Characters will now scream when they enter a mini-game. This should help party's recognize that their team mate has left the area.
  • The beta message will now only display when the player logs in. This should clear up some spam and help new players see tutorial messages better.
  • Global save message will now only show up in server log. This should also clear up some spam and help new players see tutorial messages better.
  • Added a piece to the starting message telling new players that they can use !help and !info.
  • Updated !premium you can also open private chat channels as a premium account.
  • Players under level 50 will have 2x experience rate. This should help new players get into the server and starting to see dungeons faster.
  • Dungeons bosses can now loot dusty spell tomes and lockboxes.
  • Larger dungeons will now reward more loot for completing them. (since they take longer to complete)
  • Magical Wall Bombs will no longer be wasted when throwing them under a creature.
  • Players may now attempt to unlearn a spell by using "!forget". If the attempt is successful the player will receive a dusty spell tome for the spell they chose to unlearn and all experience in that spell will be lost. If the player fails they will have to wait to try again. In both cases the player will have to wait to attempt to unlearn another spell.
  • Added a party room. Players can host party's and other cool events in this room. There is a spot in the party room where players can throw unwanted items. A countdown timer will begin and then the items will be dispersed randomly around the room.
