Hi guys.

I got a realmap and it's really large, like 200mb, most of the areas is not used at all and is probably taking up tons of space.

How can you effeciently downscale a map so the areas existing is the only areas and not alot of black screen covering those 35kx35k tiles?

(Preferably without messing the coordinations up, it would be tedious to edit a million tp's)

The cluster of content is placed south east on the map, so i would have to get rid of everything north and west

I read a thread where @Limos responded to a simliar question, he said i could manually move the content to the north west area of the editor and change the dimensions. But i don't think thats possible because of the size, the more i zoom out the slower and eventually its too slow, haha.

You can import the map into a new map, then use - to move the map to the left upper corner. Instead of 1000 write the amount that should be removed at the north west side of the map.

Then by changing the Map Dimensions (Map, Properties) you can make the total size smaller.

Easiest would be just to remove places that you don't need manually. It doesn't take that long time since you can remove everything by holding down ctrl and using the remove tool on RME.

Awesome, thanks a bunch for the response and how quick it was.

Tile data:
Total number of tiles: 19208054
Number of pathable tiles: 4630536
Number of unpathable tiles: 14577518
Percent walkable tiles: 24.11%
Detailed tiles: 2603254
Percent detailed tiles: 13.55%"

Would i have to do like -25000 -25000 in order to get it to the top left corner? I tried -1000 and -1000, didn't seem to affect anything though.

I might not have grasped the idea of what you wrote yet, or just misunderstood it.

Definately, the problem is that you can't remove black tiles though.. i'm using like 25% of the map, everything else is black.. and in order to get the black to go away i need to resize the map, and my map is in the bottom right corner, so if i resize it i'll delete all content.

What I wrote is to remove the unused (black) parts of the map.
Write the number with - like I did in the picture, but then instead of 1000, how much it should remove at the north west side of the map.
For example if the north west part of the map is on 32000 31000, then you can do for example -30000 -30000. You can also do it more precisely if you look where the map ends at the north west side exactly.

It worked, fantastic. Did you know the TP locations were gonna adjust to their new location? that amazed me. :)

One thing though, when trying to save it after downsizing it gets stuck at saving spawns 99%, any idea what might collide? I did a search and it doesnt seem like anyone ever encountered this.

Never had this problem, always worked for me.
Already tried to import the map again? Maybe something went wrong or you accidentally removed a part with spawns.

Yes, i gave up after 5-6 minutes of it being stuck at 99% and now i tried doing the same thing, but i figured i should wait alittle longer since it might be "complicated" to change the spawn of 44k~ creatures? the location, that is.

Still stuck at 99% though.

Did you also removed parts of the map (with grond/items/spawns) after resizing it? Then you can also try to remove less of the map.
