It is unfair to people who don't bot, but you might ask yourself, why don't you bot?
Many players feel the tasks the bots do are the boring or repetitive parts of tibia. (Hunting for countless hours, hitting heal hotkey every few seconds, hitting spell hotkey every 2 seconds, using haste every 20 seconds, targetting stairhopping players, etc)
These are all things that tibia actually did horribly in my opinion.
- Hunting is so easy and boring that people would rather a bot do it than do it themselves.
- Having to constantly cast the same spell over and over again for hours of hunting is bad game design.
- Having to manage spells that you want "always on" like haste, or manashield is pretty ridiculous.
- Attempting to target stairhopping players SHOULD NOT be how it is (you shouldn't lose a target that leaves your Z axis, only ones that get off-screen)
Personally, when developing an OT I try to FIX these problems rather than have players bot. Make fun hunting, spells that you use wisely and strategically instead of every 2 seconds, etc.
But other developers just expect their players to bot. Which isn't a bad thing. Botting can be fun, and very rewarding. If you have never tried it, I do recommend it.
Play the server when you are there, bot when you are not. Let the bot perform repetitive boring tasks for you, like sorting loot, mining, etc.
Bots aren't evil, Servers that are so boring you want to bot are the true enemy ^_^.
