Recovering Acc

I have to add a "Lost account?" option in my website and after seeing several ways to do it (like with recovery key, with character name, with acc name & email,...) i wonder which of them will work better.

I've heard that recovery key system is the worst as people say it's very "hackeable", ¿what do you think?.

PD: In case you are so fucking kind person, can you advise me about how to add it? (otland guide, etc).

Id say rec key is better, emails are easy to hack seeing as the user probbly has the same password there as on the char.
Rec key + account name check.

As long as you are using a newer version like gesior 2012 it can't be hacked as long as you do the queries via his functions and not your own.


I will not even use the serach function for something like that, id create my own seeing as most of them are for older version that dosen't have the same security as the newer onces do.

Well, i'm using Gesior ACC 2012 and it's just asking for what you can see in the picture i posted above (just Character Name and not Account Name+reckey)

Well they both have pros and cons, but I prefer gesior if you ask me, don't like the way znote is built up.

If you click in the second circle you are asked for CHARACTER name and reckey, neither email nor ACCOUNT name.

Which is the "script" for either Account Name or Email?

thats in case you forgot your ACCOUNT NAME, it asks for the character so you can recover both password and account name

Anyways if i choose first option and i put the correct email i get this message:

An error occurred while sending email! Try again or contact with admin.

What could it be?

What did the error msg say? - smth is wrong with the email server. I know that there are some problems with gmail and maybe hotmails to send php emails.

I tried (like being a hacker) to put the character name an another email and it's working as it says that the email put is not the email of the account. But when i try it with the true email it says what i wrote in bold.

I think i managed properly everything in the config.php about emails, if you want i can share for you all to check it.
