Solved RME and Windows 8

Hello,

I recently installed Windows 8 Professional 64 Bits, while trying to load a map on Remeres Map Editor, RME crashes with "RME Stopped working...".
I tried with compatibility mode Win XP & Win 7, with no success.

My PC:

i5-3570k @ 4.4 Ghz
8GB Ram DDR3 1600 Mhz
HD 6670 GDDR3 1GB

Have you tried to install Visual C++ Redistributable Package and .NET Framework? By the looks of similar threads it may have been the solution.

Nope, not working. Already installed C++ Distributable Package 64 bits 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5, yet it's still crashing.

Edit:

Ran the program as Admin rights and it worked..BUT it seems it loads slow compared to Win 7.

U could try using a program like Laatido to change RME/map from 32 bit to 64 bit.

thats weird that you had an issue, when i got my windows 8 omp, rme ran perfectly fine and fast without a single error

Pirated Windows? Cause it runs perfectly fine on my W8 dualboot

When I can find it
