So, they're testing out a new tutorial island. Personally, I think it's crap. It's pretty much an evo map, but without the 54368762384976 tps in the depot. Everything else is pretty much the same. What are your thoughts?

My experience with it so far: What the hell is going on. They tried to add so many new sprites it just looks like garbage. For instance

Keep in mind, these are all floors that have stairs downwards/upwards within 7 tiles.

What. The. Hell.

BONUS! Look, pro mapping!

They have tried to make it in an OT style and shoved in as many things as they could. Just awful. The execution was horrendous. Most OT's do a better job than this.

Everyone always has to complain about new stuff, get over it. I think it's great.

Why would you want it otherwise? The whole point is to quickly show you what the vocation is about, not about exploring some big map or caves. I mean, would you really prefer to walk for miles looking for an exit, especially in a tutorial?

Its not the idea its the execution. It is the fact that they tried to shove all of the stuff they possibly could into a small area. Making a style for a 15x15 area then completely changing that style and the monsters. They could have had the same idea and such without making the entire thing look awful by keeping to a few styles, not seven.

Yeah the mapping is pretty shitty. I like the new items on it (for sorc and druid), and the idea of having shitty nub spells for the tutorial, but I feel like they could've just put that on rook or something instead of making a shitty new island that looks like it was mapped by a 10 year old.

Rookgard forever in my heart < 3

that kinda sucks tho, because I want my rookstayer that's already almost lvl 14 to have a voc but I don't think you can get back to dawnport from rook.

It's a desperate try to get more players. Tibia is dying at a faster rate than ever, just check the online counter from day to day and you'll easily notice it. They thought adding it to steam would bring them more attention, which it might have done for a short period of time, but it surely didn't last.

IMO, most of the new stuff they're adding to the map is pretty.."meh". Just check out Oramond, that place is just ridiculously mapped, kinda looks like they were in a hurry. Same shit with Roshamuul, most of that map looks very rushed as well.

My theory - They're trying to look as active as possible with adding new content, trying to get new and/or old players interested to squish out as much money as possible before the game totally falls into the steaming pile of shit it's been heading for the last 2-3 years.

It's not until now that I actually feel that the time I've spent with real tibia (about half of my life) is pretty much a waste, even if I did enjoy wasting it most of the time.

It's not even out on Steam yet, it is rumored that the new client will support Steam. They've only been Greenlit, that's it.
Maps, I could care less about the style of map, ever since Yalahar, I've been more excited for content rather than map styles. Roshamuul has been one of the better updates for high levels, same for Oramond. Don't let the style of map get in the way of how fun the new content actually is.
