I have tried to help a guy who was running a 8.6 custom ot for 3 hours. he wanted to implent customized stats. I prepared all kinds of scripts, send them to him. after he implented them properlyn othing worked. then he said its tfs 0.3.6. Most of the people who wake up 1 morning thinking damn i start a ot dont know anything. iwant to point out using advanced tfs is always a better choice.Stop spamming useless thread, thanks.
TFS versions are used depending on the type or server you are developing and which generation of tibia you are developing. Each version has its advantages and disadvantages.

true, i never coded for 0.x tfs too much to be honest. basically more palyed then develop`d at this time. yet I feel like there is absolutely no point in not using 1.x at 8.6+Is not, tfs depending on the version has mechanics for older version of tibia that "Advanced versions dosnt have. Also lua scripts has to be made properly for each tfs version since each version of tfs might have different names of functions. Maybe it dint work properly because you dint know how to code for that version in particular?
There are features in 0.x that are not included in 1.x
proof or didn't happen
no proof? can't think of any example of feature impossible for 1.1? too badGo to the download section and check sources for yourself. There is all the proof you need.
I wont spend time looking for specific lines of code but that is why 0.x is used for tibia 7.x because there are pecific objects and functions made for those versions. Because it is 0.x does not mean is not updated to date. 0.x means is for older versions of tibia.no proof? can't think of any example of feature impossible for 1.1? too bad

If you were right people or ot land developers would have ceased support for those tfs versions.
TFS 1.1 reached a point where every feature from 0.4 can be rewritten using some clever workarounds.
My scripts prove that 1.1 can do even more than 0.4.
OtLand supports all server versions and it's up to people what server version they want to use. OP just wanted to say that 0.x sucks.
@dip'ah let them be ignorant people will stay ignorant. Only programmers and true developers understand the use of 1.x and 0.x. 0.x has optimized code for certain versions of tibia and 1.x is optimized for certain versions. There are features in 0.x that are not included in 1.x that is why otland and its developers still support both versions. The worst thing is that drow arrow kept doing erroneous scripts for 0.x without noticing . LOL
People think because they know LUA they are programmers they are wrong.

"Only true programmers", I'd rewrite that to..
Only true programmers would not use latest TFS or any other OT engine at all, they'd pick something containing as little as possible to spare the time of creating it from scratch, and then totally remake the entire engine for it.
I've taken old sources with barely no functions, remove the existing functions and remake them from scratch, better that you make your own engine there you have 100% control over it and know exactly where everything is located.
But ofc that is for the real programmers that isn't spamming support boards for "plx how convert string to int plx halp!"
