I'm not a fan of real maps so I would say no.
You should create a custom map instead.
I'm sure the server you're talking about is using 8.6 as client version?
If so you should consider moving forward and use TFS 1.X with the "latest" client version available, in this case 10.77/10.79.

I've been around for a long time... Almost all of the more popular "real map" servers out there began from those asking themselves this very question, and contemplating the use of those very same files (or other free files). You have to start somewhere.
Take advantage of the open source community. Download the files and give it a shot.Each mistake teaches us something new, and failure is not fatal. Go for it.

If you wanna start an 8.6 rlmap, then go with 1.2 (the one Ninja released), avoid using the older 0.x versions.
Or go with a 10.x server, but you have to do more things, compared to an 8.6 server to get it "good", but would generate alot more players if you do make it 10.x.
Just look at shadowcores and the ox server, shadowcores is slowly gonna die out, just like icechaw etc so id say it's a good time to start a 10.x server.
But what most ppl are doing is downloading the github one and starting it, thats a big no if you ask me.
It does have alot of bugs, but for some reason ppl just wanna make money insted of a good server and earn money from the work they did...
