My question is, is it possible to use the 10.98 items otb for my 8.60 ot?

yeah but what are you trying to accomplish with using the 10.98 otb?
you can't use any of the items from there, plus the items.xml will be out of sync with the otb and your items will be all wonky
you'd have a hard time finding the correct item ids for everything
 
There are many cool sprites at tibia 10.98, why should I waste my time to add alot of these sprites to my 860 items otb if theres maybe a easier way?

If u Used Items/otb in u 860 U will get kick Debuged in Tibia cuz The items Didnt found in tibia.exe
