It becomes really tiring this new attitude from moderators, specially since @WibbenZ has been promoted. I don't care how much help he offers, but he acts like so cocky around this forum since his promotion. Summ or Cornex would be no exception if they were active. Not to mention this @Vulcan_ or Static or Demonic_ or whoever he is which takes the same path sooner or later.

I wanted to discuss about this in general, but I really have to point out that WibbenZ hasn't taken his responsibilities as it should be. They give too much prior to their friends, if some of them is getting bad posts in their threads, they simply delete it. I understand that some may contain offense word, but how hard is for you to write a comment that for THIS reason it has been deleted? All my posts recently has been deleted and NONE of them has been commented out, same goes for reporting posts. Most of times you don't get any notification about the status when there are not even daily 1,000 users online. How many reports do you receive? 5? 10? 20 per day? How long it takes to check them and update status?

You would be asking why I made this thread now even if it's useless and nothing will be changed (at least community will get to know). Yesterday, I posted in bayview's thread: I am retiring - from otland and it got deleted today (I knew it would happen, his godfriends are mods after all). I have all the right to blame anyone for what they did, how do you find that offense? It's just like blaming Hitler for what he did and get jailed. Erasing all the posts just makes you look like 10 years old who can't stand a single opinion instead of simply ignore it.

My question is WHY would you delete in first place? If you had a good reason to do so, why don't you comment it so I can understand and avoid it in future at any cost. Or if it's just a part of that post that hurts your feeling, why don't you point it out so I can either edit it or remove it by myself (or yourselves)?

It looks like (it is actually) no one have voice here, if you say anything bad or small things that hurts to someone else, you're aimed to be banished.

If someone else deleted my post on that thread, UPDATE it now and give it a decent reason or don't delete next time and resign your position immediately. You're useless then.

*Moderators, could be anyone because I'm unable to figure out who is the one messing around. I know for sure one to blame on.

i reported your post in that thread and they deleted it because it goes against forum rules
shouldn't need to really tell you that passive aggressive behavior and plain out insulting people is against the rules

You may not post content that offends other users (such as insults, threats, racism, discrimination, or any other type of personal attack). Any personal issues you have with another user should be dealt with in private.

Before this kid got promoted to global mod, it was pretty cool (not because you could insult) and not many would be offended from what one said, until him and his stupid rules came out. Why weren't they written by the administrators from the beginning of this forums?

My main point of this thread is that they don't follow their task correctly, if you are finishing a report, complete it correctly and add a reason to it. I don't necessarily have to create a new thread with this drama to know what happened with my post.

he didn't write them, he took the liberty of making an announcement and displaying those rules which have always existed so that more people will see them
they are written by admins and have been here, you've just never taken the time to look for them i guess
read the terms and rules here, you can find it at the bottom right of every page: Terms of Service and Rules | OTLand
by signing up, you agree to those terms of service, and when you're insulting people you're breaking those terms and rules

Oh, by the way. I forgot to mention you as well in first post. I'll sort it out now.

I don't care who reported my post nor I care about the post, but I do care about how easily an action is taken just because for a useless reason.

All you care is about REP+++ to gain chances to become next global mod, too sad wibbenz took your opportunity. Keep going, report all you can to gain more trust which will take you more years. I'll help you:
[France] [7.4] Realistic-War - ONLINE
Why don't delete users post too instead of ban?
[France] [7.4] Realistic-War - ONLINE
Isn't this offensive? I find it offensive, delete it now.
[France] [7.4] Realistic-War - ONLINE
This guy offends me saying that a video is not good enough.

And that was just one thread, you have hundreds of more like this but you had to report mine because I brought up some lame history about your friend.

It has nothing to do with friends man, I saw your comment and knew it'd be deleted, I'm surprised you didn't get a warning or an infraction, and yes I know, you don't like codex at all, many users don't, but that doesn't mean you're allowed to insult him every chance you get.
You can take your time to send codex a PM to discuss personal matters, if posts offend you just report them, a mod for sure will take a look at it.

Also, if you need someone to tell you what was wrong with your post then you've got a problem, it was clearly breaking rule #6 as pointed before.

TL; DR
Just chill man, you did wrong and got your post deleted, if there's something wrong with a post, just report it.

I was the "cocky" moderator that deleted your post.

And if you belive that I abuse my position you can (as stated in the rules thread) report me to the administrators.

Ref; OtLand - The Official Rules for OTLand
Addendum 2:
Position abuse will not be tolerated. As a staff member, our job is to help people, not harm them. We may only use our powers for the purposes that they have been given to us. Any sign of abuse should be reported to an administrator immediately.

We try as best as we can do either send a notification what the issue was if we don't feel a warning point is needed.

Atm we have 0 reports that has to be fixed, the only way for us to fix a report is to either resolve or reject it, you get a notification about both (the user who created the report).
Ex a report you did on your own post (13th june) was resolved (you should have gotten a notification about that) (post was in [France] [7.4] Classictibia low rate)

In most cases when I delete it's because after the edit there would be pretty much nothing left.

About Codex I can almost promise you that he dosen't have any friends that are mods, in that case why would he have been banned on x amount of accounts?

The reason it was deleted is because of rule #6

And im sorry about not sending you a notification, I must have forgotten it, I normally send a notification or PM unless I give them a warning.
I guess I could have edited the post and left "Please, don't leave due to my behaviour, I apologize."
If you want me to "update" the post I can give you a warning, it's to late to send a notification I have to do that when I delete posts.

Your main account was made in 2009, you should know the rules by now and also know that I didn't write them.
This is where I copied the rules;
Rules

And you don't have to create a thread, you can PM a moderator and they will check it.

The first post you linked, that post was not the issue, this was:
Its like showing a goat to muslim and leaving him for 5 minutes with her with trust he wont touch her.

If you got any other questions you can either PM me or quote me.

My idea is that adminstrators should search for active support team here on otland.
Many of moderators right now are busy with life and inactive on otland.

moderators should have to be creators of content too, I agree with Monkey.
I reached the coordination of tibia king without ever moderating anything, just by creating content. Other staff members got a little pissed about it and it was the time I've decided to quit. The forum is fucking dead now, probably for good. And the new staff never creates content so they are not respected nor liked by members, which make members tend to violate the rules on purpose.

I never had to use my power as coordinator, people didn't trolled or disrespected rules because they didn't want to look silly because they knew they would eventually need my help, even for private purposes besides forum, so maintaining a good relationship with me would be a good idea. I managed to create an environment where people competed and teach others, and my time there was the closest we got in number of access to the golden age of tibia.

Don't speak in plural if just refer to one moderator, @sampleangel

I also pity you and others that get carried away by Codex and take him seriously. He's been doing this and worse since more than a year now. Probably he'll come back from this umpteenth "retirement" some time later, as usual.

I never said i was leaving ;) What I did say was that I am not getting involved in other people's code, simply put I am no longer extending any of my knowledge new or otherwise in support or requests as I have always tried to do in the past this what I mean by retirement. :)

If i release code then it's just because I enjoy coding. ;)

The fact that you equalize blaming Hitler for what he did with blaming a forum user is really killing me.

No. Moderators do not have to be creators of content. They have to be - as their title implies - moderators of content, hence "moderator" and not "contributor".
Of course, most moderators choose to be helpful since to reach a position like that in a forum with many members, you have to actually care for the forum.

lol! mods always cocky in otland. its what make otland otland :)

Hey, I wasn't cocky. I was subtly cocky :( - Most of the moderators I knew back when I was a mod too were pretty cool, helpful and knowledgable guys in fact. And those who were cocky were also cocky before being promoted. Thus, their position was not the reason.

I am not saying that the current mods are cocky, I am just pointing out what the old generation of mods was like. I am sure the current staff live up to the expectations and keep this forum clean.

Don't speak in plural if just refer to one moderator, @sampleangel

Hey pal, long time no see.

If this is the case with that particular user then I suppose a warning should be issued or a ban to make an example out of. Deliberately creating retirement threads just to cause chaos, spam, flame or whatever should fall under a "no provoking" rule. I am a member on a large programming forum, when a user wants to retire and post a retirement thread, he asks the admins to close their account after they post it. I suppose this could be implemented here as well or prohibit x retirement threads within y period of time.

Whats annoying to me is if someone posts anything negative on certain server threads it is deleted because of Mods sticking up for these shit servers that spoof, take money from new ignorant players. Players should know the negative. It's just like TripAdvisor or yelp. People should be able to post their thought for others to see. Like Nazi Germany around here or something. Speaking about DarkOT specifically. Boy times have changed.

From my experience criticism is deleted when it's coupled with rule breaking content. For example calling out a bad server is okay, but doing it while being blatantly racist is not okay. If people are unaware of the rules then that's their problem. Criticism isn't forbidden, but to nobody's surprise there are actual rules.
