I wrote this as a support thread because it's related to support and is not really a discussion thread.

For those people that are continually posting about things that have been discussed the last 20 years..
Please avoid asking about tutorials before googling them for at least 2 minutes.

I usually spend a few hours trying to get something from the documentation of anything SO don't bother asking here about things that have been already answered BUT you were just lazy to search.
-----------
I have received a warning message from ~WibbenZ regarding making fun of a person asking about a reference/tutorial for c++.

I just googled ``c++ reference websites`` and found https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-best-C++-Documentation-Websites as the first result

((a tip if you are looking for references for anything, just google "c++ documentation"))

For admins, if you are trying to keep good people around (definitely not talking about myself). Then please strike those who ask ridicules questions. In stack-overflow if you ask a question that doesn't get enough reputation or a duplicate you get banned from questioning again/for a while.

As I told you via PM, you broke a rule and accept the consequences.
Just because you think a rule is dumb or w/e doesn't mean you can break it.

And about "keeping good people around", well if you wanna stay on the forum, it's simple - follow the rules.
Otherwise we should remove all the rules that Codex broke and unban him aswell.

For those who don't know what we are talking about;
Rule #6
Rules for the Support board

What he wrote "¿ti delgoog uoy evah"

The thread has since been answered with 3 correct answers, might be a good ide to read them @Slavi Dodo
C++ - Looking for a good reference

Aswell as this thread; OtLand - Please do not bite the newcomers - Newcomers Welcome Policy

Weren't we all newcomers at some point earlier?
I'd lie if I said that I didn't ask dubious questions, but I remember correctly that I spent days googling them and trying to figure em out alone + All of them were tibia related and not a general topic that has been discussed in a lot of places.

I'm not a fan of breaking rules. What I'm pointing is at is not being lazy and swamp the support thread with dubious, unrelated or duplicated questions.

imho if you don't have a good answer then don't do a troll answer and ignore that thread, simple. Let it be

I respect your opinion, but it would be better to not post in that case.

I know which thread you're referring to and I am the one that actually reported your post.

You posted an emoticon (which was not a one of the default ones) to bash someone that was asking, indeed, an easily Googled question.
Although I agree that people should understand that using Google is something a 10-year-old could do and they must do it themselves too in order to, at least, save their time, there's the following problem with your post:
  1. You found a link to an emoticon that expresses your disapproval of the thread poster asking such a question.
  2. You formatted the BBCode to display the image in your post and posted the reply.
  3. In the end, you googled what the thread poster was asking for.
Googling and posting the answer right away would take less time than posting that emoticon. Which concludes that you wasted more time that what was necessary, just to be a jerk to a newcomer.

This is not Stack Overflow and no question is ridiculous. Perhaps you should read this thread.

Firstly, your are too offensive..

I am totally unemotional person and aggressive against emotions in such places..

Wait, what? who is being emotional here? Look at your post.. AND how you mentioned that I'm such a jerk.
I am not jerking at anybody, and that post was the one that pushed me off to stop this ridicules farce that has spread a lot..

I'm not biting anybody. I know it's sometimes hard to find anything in google, but if the simplest cases are gonna be asked, then expect every newcomer to ask such topics.

DID I really care who reported, I simply generalized my message that EVERYONE should just be careful with what they post.

You just mentioned that this is not stack-overflow, it's nowhere to ask about C++ refs here.

Probably I did make a sarcasm. I liked the way how @WibbenZ has made it clear with his opinion and I am totally okay with it and respecting it. (Actually he mentioned a Rule which i wasn't okay with, but it's still a rule.)

Sincerely,
Slavi

I'd like to close this thread, It's no longer applicable for more replies, and my opinion/feedback was clear enough to let childish acts to be spread.

The only reason I kept posting/replying was to stand out my opinion and make it clearer (which concludes I did nothing wrong in my own, by either not understand the rule or not being okay with it.)

And I'm sorry to the original poster (the person who asked for c++ refs). I did mean nothing but to encourage them to google more before posting.

I'm not actually active in the support forum and one of the reasons was that I saw most of the topics unworthy to be answered so I let them to other interested people.
