Best part is this was a “long awaited update”. A long awaited update brought In only the active players (by .infos definition).

there was so little interest, the active players exploring this update are the only ones actively playing before it.

La tan esperada actualización por fin está aquí. Les presentamos los cambios que ha introducido. Estos cambios se pueden clasificar en cuatro tipos: nuevo contenido personalizado, cambios y correcciones al contenido personalizado existente, correcciones para la compatibilidad con la versión 7.4 y cambios en el cliente del juego. Todos se detallarán brevemente aquí.

Como se anunció, la nueva actualización amplía el contenido de Aruthang. Incluye nuevas zonas y 5 nuevos enemigos para cazar, con diferente poder: trilobite, caracol monstruoso, cangrejo de río gigante, engendro de tentáculos y horror de tentáculos. También incluye una nueva misión épica y algunas misiones menores. Si te preguntas qué es una misión épica, puedes leerlo todo en el artículo que enlazamos al final. No queremos arruinarte la aventura, así que solo diremos esto: comienza tu exploración hablando con Jim, el nuevo PNJ de Aruthang. La nueva actualización también introduce nuevas incursiones, incluyendo varios jefes nuevos de diferente fuerza, no solo en Aruthang, sino también en otras zonas.

También anunciamos que los cambios afectarían a toda la isla, y así fue. Ajustamos el equilibrio de los gusanos subterráneos y las bestias de magma. La reaparición de estas últimas también se modificó y extendió. También aumentamos la reaparición de los kóbolds, así como la de los trogloditas en uno de los túneles. Además, hay nuevas casas y buzones en la isla. La ubicación del correo/aduana ahora es una zona protegida, al igual que el dormitorio en Pequeño Kazo, y el templo se ha ampliado. Todos los PNJ de Aruthang, y muchos otros con diálogos personalizados, han sido revisados por un experto en idiomas. En total, se han mejorado más de 70 PNJ. Los cambios fueron principalmente correcciones gramaticales y estilísticas (que no afectan el progreso de las misiones). Además, se ha revisado y mejorado el contenido de los libros y textos añadidos anteriormente. Se aplicaron numerosas correcciones en todo el mapa: las áreas originales recibieron correcciones que acercan su apariencia a la 7.4, mientras que las áreas personalizadas se actualizaron para corregir nuestros propios errores y equivocaciones.

Tras mencionar la versión 7.4, también queremos mencionar las mejoras en la mecánica del juego para mantener la coherencia con dicha versión. El cambio más significativo probablemente sea la desactivación del desplazamiento para personajes con PZ-Lock. Pocos jugadores lo recuerdan, pero la versión 7.4 no permitía el desplazamiento con PZ-Lock, por lo que restablecimos esa regla. Además, también se ha corregido el problema de sobreaparición. Inicialmente, dijimos que se activaba a una distancia de más de 10 casillas, y esto era cierto en la mayoría de las apariciones. Sin embargo, había algunas excepciones, que ahora también se han incluido en nuestro juego. Además, también se ha mejorado la mecánica de los campos mágicos, y a partir de ahora los campos "temporales" no sobrescribirán los que están en el mapa de forma permanente (aunque, por supuesto, se pueden eliminar con una runa de destrucción de campo). También se han corregido otros detalles, pero para ser breves, nos limitaremos a presentar solo los cambios principales y más significativos.

La nueva actualización también incluye un nuevo cliente de juego. Se ha mejorado con nuevas funciones, basadas principalmente en vuestras sugerencias e ideas en el foro. A partir de ahora, podréis usar la función "Recordar contraseña", configurar fácilmente la tecla WASD para caminar y tomar capturas de pantalla automáticas. Además, podéis configurar el cliente para que siempre abra el chat del gremio, mientras que los líderes del gremio podrán enviar notificaciones a todos los miembros. Esto se puede configurar en la página web de vuestro gremio (debéis haber iniciado sesión) haciendo clic en el botón "Cambiar". Además, os invitamos a probar el modo sin bordes: un modo de pantalla completa mejorado, gracias al cual podréis abrir más contenedores y mantener un acceso fácil a otras ventanas además del cliente. Por cierto, todas las funciones personalizadas ahora están disponibles en el menú de opciones generales, por lo que se ha eliminado el botón "+" sobre el equipo. Probablemente notéis que el menú de opciones generales ahora incluye una opción para seleccionar un paquete de sprites. Y esta funcionalidad ya está implementada. Sin embargo, los paquetes de sprites se agregarán más tarde y se descargarán automáticamente mediante el actualizador automático (que, de hecho, también ha sufrido algunos cambios).

but lets be real why would kay open new world? just to kill old one and make players like us (yes im talking about you zach aswell) to play for a year and then what? another new world? xD not gonna mention that we wouldnt play longer this time knowing kay can be baited into starting new server

Kill old one? That’s already done. The ONLY people exploring the update are the same ppl who were playing before. 150 is the average active player count. 150 is the max so far seen since update. Server is dead

As proven by medivia, new worlds never kill old ones, they put a timer on the old one for when the newer one degrades, the community migrates to the old one. Has been done literally 10x. You think medivia player count increases by keeping 1 server? You never LOSE players w a new server. War ppl will always move server to server and non war players always return back to their main server. Always

Why open a new one? Well first obviously to generate income. Could be a seasonal high rate, could be a non pvp, maybe some other type. It would generate income allowing for investment into further updates , staff and other improvement allowing Kay to focus on other responsibilities.

Another reason could be because Kay has stated he’d like to create a place for an old school community to play. That’s great. Except you need a community first. New servers bring new ppl, and if any % decide to stay, the community is increased.

most of medivia servers are similar to tibiantis numbers might look better but its because of 1 mc allowed i've played year ago two older servers on medivia at once and they were empty i had 150-300lvl spawns free most of the time only really high lvl ones were taken

You have to be realistic, and you can log in at any time to check the list of online players.

85% are Maikers who will never bother exploring even 1% of an update.

What does a live server mean to you? Sir Professorek, killing Level 20 Maikers like you've been doing for so long on Tibiantis for your Cops and Robbers videos? That's a live server for you.

I play = the server is alive, I don't play = the server is dead. Don't even waste your time, cause it's not about arguments. It doesn't really matter what arguments you use, and how much data, statistics and facts you have to support them. They can't change his perception, cause he just wants it to be true.

It generally results from several cognitive errors:
  • Confirmation bias and choice-supportive rationalization - when someone wants to believe that X is true, they are likely to only accept those facts that support their belief/choice and disregard those against it.
  • Judging based on yourself and the circle of people you know, and not the whole. E.g. "I don't play anymore, my friends don't play anymore either, so it must be dead now." - When you ignore that there may be others playing that you just don't know, you may easily fall for such impression even unconsciously.
  • Huge ego, e.g. "I stopped playing so the server must be dead, cause I can't be wrong" or alternatively: "I am the key player and the server can't do good without me".

Tibiantis has more active players now than it used to back when he played, that's a fact. He didn't say it was dead back then, but he does now. Like I said, facts don't matter, it's only about what he wants to believe.

Sometimes you can convince people with the right arguments, but this one is so delusional that it's a clinical case. After he'd quit Tibianic he spent about 10 years talking shit about Iryont and his server being "dead". Then, he played Tibiantis for less than one year, only to spend another 4 years talking the very same shit about us. He needs treatment, not new servers. I put him to my ignore list when I realized that. Even if we were to start a new server, I wouldn't let him play again, for the sake of his mental health, honestly.

No, they are not. That's not even anywhere near to be true. There are some players who only make runes for living, granted, but the vast majority of those makers on the online list - they actually do have main chars. Click here, and here too.

It's quite ironic when you say that you appreciate our "long history", when we only have that long history thanks to our "stubbornness" and because we chose to keep that one world online, and not open a new one every now and then on demand.
Thanks for the award anyway, but we never said that we didn't want to have more worlds or that we wouldn't ever open a new one. Quite the opposite, actually, we always said that there might be more worlds one day eventually. But when it happens, it won't be because of people who only want to play the rat race once more for a month or two, and then quit again, cause they simply aren't long term players.

In every 7.4 server the majority of the online list are gonna be makers, obviously, cause that's the only source of runes, and they are generally needed for active playing (wow, shocking). Therefore, using that "argument" doesn't make sense. And it makes even less sense, given that in Tibiantis those characters are real players too, and not just farms or bots, like in many other servers. Sure, there is a group of people who only make runes to sell them on the black market. We do not support this, but it's known that such practice exists (and it does exist in every other OT too). But we ensure they have to do that on just one character each, and like I said, they are in minority. The vast majority of the makers are active players who just chill making runes for themselves whenever they can.

thats how it will look on every server even if its 2k online since more people = more runes are needed

also lets be are u going to mana sit or train on 90+ skill 100lvl? nope u will stay on alt char and runemake if u dont want to exp e.g im not playing any server really but i train +runemake on medivia, i skill char on dura, runemake on tibiantis, runemake on miracle and sometimes playing 2-3 other servers aswell runemaking or skilling char for future pk/pve content


btw on these servers i didnt exp since months in case of tibiantis 2 years xD

That honestly goes both ways tbh, it's been an echo chamber in this thread for the last 20+ pages.
Unfortunately, you'll continue to see this for many years to come. It's what the people want, but it's an administration that cares about what they want, not what the players want.

Imagine the gm of a servers opinion to ppl WHEN THEY WANT TO PLAY A NEW SERVER BY HIM AND GIVE HIM MONEYS is :

Nobody wants to change mechanics, nobody wants to add new staff, nobody wants Anuthing new except a new server. And this guy replies w that. Unimaginable smooth brain behavior

This thread is a perfect example of players saying "we want server owners who will fuck our wallets over and over every 2-3 months and let us do the same thing in a loop" and a server owner who likes the idea of longterm server more than that. Yet, some players seem to be unhappy about not being fucked by Kay and Lord. Good job, and keep it up, guys. I hope numbers will grow, as always, for you when the summer season ends.
