[PAID] TFS 1.4.2 Downgrade to Tibia 8.0

I am looking for an experienced OTS developer to create a downgrade of The Forgotten Server 1.4.2 for the Tibia 8.0 client.

Scope of work:

  • Create a fully functional TFS 1.4.2 downgrade for the Tibia 8.0 protocol.
  • Adapt both the source code and datapack.
  • Maintain compatibility with existing systems and features.
  • Fix issues and bugs resulting from the downgrade process.
  • Deliver a stable foundation suitable for further development.
I am aware that public downgrades based on TFS 1.5 already exist. However, due to technical and compatibility requirements of my project, I am specifically looking for a downgrade built directly on TFS 1.4.2. I am not interested in migrating the project to TFS 1.5.

Please contact me with:

  • Information about your experience with similar projects.
  • An estimated quote.
  • An estimated completion time.
Budget: Negotiable.

Creating a proper TFS 1.4.2 downgrade for the 8.0 protocol while maintaining compatibility with existing systems, adapting the datapack, and fixing all protocol-related issues is a significant task. It's much more than a simple protocol conversion. may i ask why you MUST have tfs 1.4.2 to 8.0 ?

Theres almost zero difference between TFS 1.4.2 and TFS 1.5 at all

There is no big diffrence between the one nekiro downgraded and tfs 1.4.2
Unless you want to implement some systems like [market, modal window, mounts, bless,New cooldown, etc...
but downgrading a version that is already downgraded ? its huge pain in the ass and waste of time.

Escopo do trabalho:

If you used 100% of your brain you would just swap graphics and leave everything else as "features". But who am i to judge a person seeking cipsoft client compatibility in times where no one uses it.

There are huge number of people who still uses 8.6 client compatibility in order to use elfbot just for nostalgic vibes.

Using 100% of your brain means understanding that a downgrade is not just changing sprites and pretending it became 8.0.

this thread is about an 8.0 downgrade...

[PAID] TFS 1.4.2 Downgrade to Tibia 8.0

as far as I know, ElfBot was made for 8.60. For 8.0, the most commonly used bot was Tibia Bot NG, and honestly, I don't think many people are nostalgic about that shit (Tibia Bot NG).

For me, and only for me, it would be much easier to take a 10.98 BlackTek base and an OTC client, then modify the OTC (Lua and OTUI) so it visually resembles cipsoft 8.0, rather than fighting with C++ packets in TFS

It would still be 10.98; you would just disable or hide feature introduced after 8.0(store, cooldown, Emblems, Market, UnjustifiedPoints)
From a cost-benefit perspective, that's the best approach for a beginner and completely free.

yeah I know it is about 8.0 so? I was just telling fridai that there is huge community that still uses cipsoft clients for version 8.6 just for elfbot. also I don't know why say "I don't think many people are nostalgic about that shit." you probably didn't play either baiak/evo servers that is somehow reaching the top of the most online players in the servers list that supports cipsoft client using dll injection with mounts/modalwindow support.

and it is still also the User choice not yours to choose either he want to play in OTC or the original client.

ElfBot is still one of the main reasons why many people keep using the 8.6 CIP client. A lot of old-school players are already used to it, especially players who are 30+ now, with work, family and kids. They don’t want to learn a new client or configure everything again from zero.

For them, ElfBot + CIP client is simple, familiar and practical. That’s why 8.6 still has a strong community around it. It’s not only nostalgia; it’s also comfort and habit. Some people may prefer OTC, but many classic 8.6 players still want the original client because that’s what they already know.
