Well ive just heard some day on TV tht Piratebay (the crew) got cought from the police and they have to pay now some milions of dollars.....
Tell us your opinion about it..

My oppinion
I like downloading.. and i think it should exist..
but it is like stealing.. indeed.

"The Pirate Bay" is helping others to steel. they are helping others to commite crimes.

I LOVE PIRATE BAY! but it's the law in sweden..
And now they got new laws that will track everyone that's downloading illegal stuffs via torrents..
Personally i would think that this laws are crap.. and that pirate bay should continue..

I would do like this.
Download a CD. and if i like it alot. i would go and buy it..
Because the artists can't just make music for nothing.. ;)
But anyway.. Download should be illegal.. think about that Every single person between 13-20 years prbly have downloaded something.
But the government that maded this rules. i surely thinks even their kids are downloading.. (fail)

Anyway.. my oppinion is that it should be legal..

The Pirate Bay crew themselves have done nothing wrong whatsoever. They do indeed run one of the worlds largest torrent site, but as they are not hosting any illegal files on their servers, they are not responsible for it. The site itself also has a lot of legal torrents, the fact that people tend to upload illegal material to TPB is something the crew decided to overlook as they do not moderate it (their choice). Therefore the crew is innocent. Simple as that.

But they are really helping others to commite crime..
They are both innocent and guilty.. depends on how you see the point..
 
They are not helping anyone to commit a crime. They are running a site which they choose not to moderate. It's like saying YouTube is helping people to commit crimes, this is just pure bullsh*t (excuse my language). The site is ment for legal items, but as they are not moderating it - no one is there to remove the illegal items. Although, the items are not on any of TPBs server and cannot therefore be hold responsible for them.

okay. you are right. BUT.
They are pirates.. they know that they got illegal files at the sites (Not got.. linking)..
They are choosing to NOT moderate it because they want the videos/music in the site.. They want it to be a "Pirate place, with Music/Films etc etc)
But they are choosing to not moderate it to have a "cover up"

NOTE: This is my oppinion. i'm not telling that it IS or is NOT..

Yes obviously, but as they decide not to moderate it, they depend on their community. Therefore the crew itself is not doing anything against the law. If you would like to run a website, there is absolutely nothing that forces you to moderate it. ;- )

But maybe their are some deeper laws in sweden that makes you responsible of what's in your site?
I don't know.. >.<
 
True also here in Austria and Republic of Sprska is nothing about the site i mean some law i downloaded Files from tht site in the past week like 63 files but still nuttin or some warning..
Thats pure Bull.... !!!!!!

so true... altho ive heard they only got caught for a few albums and movies. (not sure its true since i heard it from a friend)

edit: So techically if i upload a song and post link here the owners of otland can get jailed for it? lol.
