TFS needs to compile with LARGEMEMORYADDRESSAWARE flag..for the devs!

Well my computer now allows 3gb of memory instead of the 2gb cap but the program for tfs only accepts 2gb cap...it needs a LARGEMEMORYADDRESSAWARE flag to allow vista users to host very large maps, this would be a huge advance in tfs and easy for the devs to do.


To increase your virtual memory cap from 2gb to 3gb for vista users then open cmd.exe and type in:

bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072

now that the computer allows it we need the TFS.exe to allow it..please read devs!

For SERIOUS hosting and big OTS: LINUX

For LIL OTS (But kind of serious) or persons with no knowladge of even formating your computer OR LAZY PERSONS which wont learn about LINUX: windows server edition and maybe plain windows XP

AND For unserious OTS (AKA. 1 WEEK OTS) or TEST SERVERS OR persons without the knowladge of formating a PC: Winblow vista~Windows 7

dude any OS can host a successful serious server...you just have to know what your doing....windows vista can host the same performance as linux if you have some knowledge of computers..I got rid of the stupid 2gb cap and can now host 170mb maps lmao..ON MY VISTA

my map is 111 mbs, the process takes 2.4 ghz of RAM the ot is completely lag free, once you remove the 2gb cap from the tfs.exe its all good

If you dont think vistas can host serious ot's you simply dont know anything about them.

You can set it tho in Windows Registry ,

for using applications with 2,00GB+ And more RAM..

How?

Navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

Doubleclick on:

SystemPages

Value:

ffffffff

Done!


Now you can use your application as much ram as much as you want.

linux isn't nearly as user friendly as vista. If you have a solid internet and plenty of RAM hosting is a breeze on vista or linux it doesnt matter..

If you have a solid internet and plenty of RAM hosting is a breeze on vista or linux it doesnt matter..

on linux you can save a lot of more RAM&CPU and it even handle it better (In other words less latency) and WINDOWS VISTA (Not server editions) ISN'T designed FOR HOSTING, This is exactly like XAMPP, Xampp is tend to be used only for developers not for serious project BUT W/E persons like you wont understand it, your ego is so damn big that you wont accept that you are wrong.....
