I've heard many ppl have started to play pokemon online. With almost 2000 players online on 6 servers is it one of the biggest otservers ever. I wanted to try it out myself and downloaded the client from the po website (megaupload).

As always did i scan it, And the scanner said it was infected.

Virustotal. MD5: ec26ea4614c1767b9dac32a48ef05d01 Heuristic.BehavesLike.Win32.Suspicious.I Trojan.Agent.ATV Heur.Pck.MoleBox

As i see it looks like the po client got a keylogger in it. I may be wrong but it looks like it in my eyes. With 2000 online (and even more ppl playing) sounds this really weird to me :huh:
It may perhaps not be something to worry about but I'm still asking when I've heard about ppl playing real tibia and po. Should they be worried?

i dont think theres a keylogger my rl acc havnt been hacked so nah

and btw sometimes the virus lies because it said that my tibia was infected once :D
 
How can you be so sure? I may be completely wrong but the scanner says it infected. Scan it yourself and see. or download a new client and scan it. It doesn't need to be something to worry about but I'm still asking. With over 2000 players can't they hack all players at the same time. If it's true is it good if all po players get no know it.

Still waiting for someone who knows this better to tell us more about it.
 
Im one of the first people who downloaded the client,
I was bored of the waiting list, I went on my world-trading char, he has over 1.6kk, I went on it after one week, and he still have over 1.6kk so Its not a hack, besides, he get cash more than real-tibia does. :D - the PO staff.
 
What makes you think is a keylogger?
Do you even know how to detect keyloggers?
Did you think/read your own post before posting it?

Sorry didn't mean to be rude if you thought i was. But The scan says it is possibly a trojan in it. that could be a keylogger. But as you guys say, I don't know much about it. that's why I'm asking. "It isn't a keylogger in it cuz I haven't been hacked yet" isn't that good reason to say it's safe.
But is that a reason to call me an idiot?

Well ,yeah But I didn't really got a good reason to why it's safe. What I was asking about was the technical explainsion why the scans says it's a malware. That's why i said "waiting for someone who knows it better" Is it how the client is coded or something?

Don't really know why everyone got mad at me, perhaps did you missunderstood me? Didn't mean to be harsh in any way. But this is perhaps the only answers i can get from you..
 
I didn't read the whole thread, but in results you have "Binder". It's application which splits few files to one file (anty .spr stealers :D).
 
Wow wtf are you guys jumping on him for, he is asking a question, so far noone really has a legit answer other than "Naw man I haven't been hacked yet" So just because he is concerned for others doesn't mean you guys get to be assholes, now I don't believe theres a keygen in it, but @up is right. Prolly their spr protection.

- Tell me, if it was not safe, they'd firstly hack the first 300 players right?
Those players when they test it and say its safe, and nothing to worry about, then there will be more players to come, MEANS ITS SAFE.

- Besides, they are not opening a no donation style game.
They do get paid everyday, 70$+ as far as I've heard.

If they ever wants real-tibia cash/chars/items/premmy..
they'd simply broadcast a message.
"I would give you (Whatever), if you will give me, "cash, chars, items" on world : -

not a legit answer? then simply gtfo.

Dont play if you think there's a keylogger.. I did computer scan and it said PO was infected.. But then again it said every single file on my computer was infected >.> stupid anti virus, I uninstalled that silly anti virus..

Sounds like a scam, why scan with virustotal and then ask people to scan the file with an unknown virus scanner "NoVirusThanks"
sounds a bit fishy
 
I Dont think theres a Keylogger in PO..
I have a character and theres nothing wrong..
maybe you right..
but with over 1500 players.. they can't hack them all :p

It's unknown to you, cool people know it.

@topic:

The fact that you are not hacked yet doesn't mean it's not infected. If the server has 100.000 active accounts (that also used the client) then the possibility of the hacker checking your own account for possible exploit is 1/100000. It might be indeed a keylogger or it might also be due to the fact that the client connects to a server, most likely the second one.

Couldn't agree more. If you think you'll get hacked you can do 1 thing only. Close PO , shut down your computer, go eat like fat man and then start crying cuz you were not able to play PO just because of a silly virus scanner. LOL AT YOU
