The biggest reason why people play real maps is the pvp.
It's annoying as hell pvping on a custom map server, atleast I think so, as you do not know the map as well as you do with the real map.

And if u dont like real maps. DONT PLAY ON THEM!!
And why people like them... Probably they cant go higher than 20+ on real tibia. Good reason to play real map if they want to go 100+...

True, kids are downloading RL maps, running, earning money. People like it because owner don't care about game so players can bot etc. and they're happy they have lvls 500 botted on rotwors. Sad but true =/

You can't speak for everyone just because you are or think others are. Im sure most of the owners of really custom/well-thought servers werent there only for the money, or for it at all. Im proud to say Im one of those, and I know a few others who are aswell.

On my last project I had no donations open for the first weeks because I didnt think the server was ready "enough" to do so (it was actually just a public beta), and some people were begging me to open them, one of them offered me as much as 50€ if I gave him just "anything", and I rejected them all because of the reason I already stated. So yeah, I can say no for a penny that I know I dont deserve yet. Why? Because I knew I had lack-of-time issues and I knew that project wouldnt go much farther, so if I accepted them it would've been just a scam.

I dont know if anyone has went that "far", but I do know not everyone is in this for the money. Im sure Im not alone on that.

Agree with you, those who put donations on their servers and closed it even though they were still able to host it are fucking fags unless they got attacked by DOS they have no excuses, no to donation its all scambullshit.

i like playing realmaps, but its hard to find a realmap that the hosters cares about the map and players and just open it to earn money. but yea, they have a real life and do other stuffs. but still.

im currently playing thunderstorm.servegame.org and i think its pretty sweet still not so much players. lol
