Hello!

I've been thinking of getting Windows 7 instead of my Vista, but what I heard Ubuntu should be a good Operative system..

Is the system good for gaming? Is it complicated?

Thanks~

Linux + Gameing = no

Unless you just play Wow and Tibia :P

It's kinda hard, but you figure it out easy if you got some Computer knowledge

Windows 7 is just the greatest thing in the world.
It's better than Vista, Linux, and Macintosh combined.

Gah xD That made me lol so hard :P

Have you even tried to learn Linux or Macintosh?

I have a mac, I still don't like it since it's limited in some compatibility. It's a nice OS but, not enough for me over Win7. Linux, I don't want to get involved with copy and pasting codes or programming shit to make my OS work, I don't want to even learn how to use these things when Win7 is extremely easy to understand since we've all used Windows for many years.

You don't need to know programming to be able to run windows...

And just because a OS is easier doesn't make it better.
That's like buying a Car with automatic gears just because you are to lazy to shift.

For that part, I was talking about Linux.

I ment linux..

Still, I'm not going to spend my time fixing up, manually updating and maintaining something when Windows 7 has everything basic done for you. I really rather not learn a bunch of crap to use an OS.

I tried ubuntu & kubuntu as secondary OS's, it was pretty fun for some day when you were bored but all in all it's too much hassle to get something to work, besides there's performance degress in games and that's a problem for me. It's too advanced for regular use. I don't want to use a fucking terminal. Linux is such a pain :p

I like my windows 7. :D

window 7 owned Xd Nice Skin Nice style Better programmering and Much good for games

Don't talk without facts, on Linux is even more easier to update&Download stuff.

Simply as that:

Synaptic%20Package%20Manager%20.png

The app library can come in handy yeah, but to be honest I just found it bothersome (:p). It's probably just because I wasn't used to it, but last time I tried Ubuntu (1-2 months ago?) I had to play around a lot with the terminal to get everything working. Besides, I don't like the look of it :p I played around with gnome(?) themes etc. but I still prefer even windows xp.
Also it feels too nerdy :p

Then you haven't tried it..

Linux is simpler to update and install programs.

What's easier:

Windows:
Go into the internet -> Find the homepage for example VLC -> Download the .EXE -> Use it and pres next next next next install.

Or

Linux:
Open Terminal -> yum/apt-get/pacman install vlc -> done

You stupid mother fucker ,,l,, go hon

@all
hello

Windows for gaming experience.
Linux for server.

Nothing more to discuss, Linux is FAR away from Windows when it comes to games. (Perhaps because Windows was rich enough to licence DirectX for themselves). But thats life.

WoW, Tibia, HoN, WC3, Steam games , Unreal Tournament based games, quake based games works just fine on the gaming front. Linux is FAR supperior to Windows when it come to small games. OpenGL performance is FAR supperior too. And when you can provide a third part API and still get the same performance as native Windows, then you got a problem with your OS.

Doom3, Quake 4, Quake wars is native Linux.

Well, it's a million times harder in Windows then in Ubuntu, Ubuntu got auto update for ALL programs, unlike Windows.

Windows 7 is just the greatest thing in the world.
And I've used Linux for 6-7 years and can't regret it. It works, it's secure, stable, no maintainment, no reboots, no anoying DRM that fails every update, no driver problems, and looks a million times nicer (whatever you like win7, mac or something else you can get EXACTLY that).

1. Linux is more for noobs then Windows.
2. Ubuntu works, you don't need anything else really.
3. HoN on Linux?

Gnome-looks, kde-looks, compiz-themes (google these sites) you'll find MANY MANY nice skins. Programming is FAR supperior on Linux, don't question the simplicity here.

If you compare games compatible with Linux with games compared with Windows, Windows have many more games available than Linux. Ofc it might be possible to run those games using some sort of Wine doors, but its not the same.

Take a trip into your local gaming shop, how many games can you see that are available for Linux, compared to "For Windows".

And those problems you mentioned with Windows 7, I have never faced anyone of them.
