You should in my opion first start with an basic idea, write down some things that are essential in a Town and it of course need to look nice. Look at other peoples Towns are try to recreate them. To get a more basic understanding about mapping and the possibilities. Don't just randomly start with something (yet).

Make a sketch and only add essential things in it yet. Make a basic plan how to create your mapping goal. But atm I'd mainly focus remaster an already existing map and give your own twist on it.

This is just my opion of a non-experienced mapper.

And I'd not recommend using a starter room, that's so old. Use the starting items script.

I liked those rooms tho. Don't think it's bad at all.
 
  • press a to enable/disable automatic border
  • you should use a script for first items
  • read tutorials about mapping, check other good mappers like peroxide/try to map like them and you will become the biggest mapper of doom

Got it, gonna take a look at the map area some more.. wanted to see some what I could do on my own

I've watched people script and I get lost in seconds and get mad about it xD I'd need someone to litterally baby walk me through it at first to actually learn anything.. and I don't know anyone willing to do it.. everyone just says that im free to watch them do it but i have no idea wtf theyre doing.. hahaha
Not the worst ive seen but you definitely need to watch some tutorials for sure.

Learning to script/map is not hard, just time consuming.
Just like anything else you do.
Find the resources + will to learn, then commit to doing it.
If you don't invest the time to learn the subject, and expect superb results, your going to have a bad time.

I've never minded the 'starting rooms'. I'd actually prefer that, to being spawned in the middle of a city/temple/wilderness without being told some information about the server.

Your depot, just move your walls to look more natural, instead of adding random railing pieces, and extra counter for the depots. xD

Well i would need someone to baby walk me in mapping too lol, i still struggle with mapping a temple ;( *Worst Mapper Achieved*
 
If you are mapping with RME, take screenshots with F11
This way those special colourful tiles won't be displayed (it will be almost like an ingame picture)
 
I cab read my friend, was just curious as to why it was necessary to even comment but I gotcha budd.
 
here is why it's bad:
  1. temple shape is bad
  2. your borders are totally random and doesn't make sense
  3. you used 500 different types of nature
  4. your roads doesn't make sense at all
  5. the bridge comes from where? someone put a lake there or what
  6. why is there pz or what ever on bridge?
  7. where is the house doors? you too lazy to find the id or what is this city
  8. what is the fence in depot? you ever played any tibia server where you saw that?
  9. your walls on houses are super fucked up like who shapes a house like that
  10. why is there huge random pz zones around shops? how is players supposed to know when pz starts/stops
i could keep going but cba.
try to at least read some guides/tutorials before posting show off

thank you lol I fixed the pz in the dp after taking this pic, just didn't think that really matters for this particular showcase cus it was for the map itself and not the ingame portion.. Was also going for a more unique style for the homes and the doors weren't added because this isn't an actually released map nor will it ever be.. it's something I mess with in my spare time till I have some actual hope when it comes to mapping then I might take it serious and get some work done for an actual release xP but I understand what your saying and I thank you for the feedback c:
