Why do all their tech seem so obsolete and bad?
that guy during the tibia 1.0 test having 20 yr old mouse and keyboard like wtf, and all the offices having rlly small screens even though they are devs etc. Is this a german thing maybe? to use things until they are completely un useable, tibia with sounds seems cool lol (rip off from some ot? ;) )

Its nice to see them working in what seems like a fresh and good office location. It seems like the cipsoft employees enjoy their stay there, and wishes to put effort into its longevity. This is good for the OT community, and I hope they will be able to turn the curve around! I love that they recognize and analyse players online data. They are not in denial, recognizes their situation and seems to be actively trying to remedy the situation. :)

That dev board though:
Listen to community 😁🤣

Great video. :D

dev board was the most meta/meme thing i've ever seen, it begs the question though, since they are seemingly so self aware why is it then that the tibia community is almost always ignored? I can't figure out if they're mocking us or if this is a good sign that they are in fact willing to do good going forward starting with this surprisingly open and nostalgic video...

That's not even true, but perhaps they should have. Many changes were pushed by people, it's just that maybe you were not among them to realize that. This is one of the reasons the game became so easy and convenient.
Nowadays everyone likes to speak how funny it was to die to a lured giant spider, but back then they were all crying about it, hence Cip changed it. Just an example. Basically the whole endless vocation balancing was (is) based on complaints coming from players who tend to always see their own voc as the worst.

You make generalisations based on your own experience(or made it up idk) and assume it applies to everyone. I played back then and I was not complaining, my friends were not complaining and in general there was a healthy balance between complainers and non complainers from my pov, it was widely accepted that tibia is an unforgiving game. It wasn't perfect but it also wasn't broken. You step outside of a PROTECTION ZONE and you are no longer protected, deal with it. This is easily fixed without doing something so dumb as to poof a monster if it walks too far, instead of doing the proper thing they did a stupid thing and it harmed more than just lurers when alternatives exist that harm no one except lurers.

By not listening I don't mean pandering to complainers or the people who want an easy game, I mean they didn't listen to any sort of actual feedback. This is very clear with steep player decline that they had ignored the majority of their player base. Players dont quit for no reason and it's not a coincidence that they had a steep player decline right after a major update and OT had a steep incline... Forums were alight for what seemed like forever and cipsoft heard none of it.

Maybe I'm still wrong though, maybe their player numbers didn't decline to pathetic lows in the face of updates that alienated the majority of their players. Maybe it was just a coincidence.

Tbh, that video lowkey got me to love CipSoft xD
Ugh, they got some sort of humor. Would love to work there someday LoL

I did not say anything about you or me. I was speaking about the major part of their community, as you did. You're forgetting that back in the days the most players were noobs, low levels who couldn't get past certain point cause it was too harsh. Cipsoft knew that and changed alot of things for easier due to many complaints. Also the vocation balancing, where people always tended to think their vocation sucked compared to the others and to cry about that. This was the major feedback and sadly they did listen to it. So no, it's not like they ignored the majority. Caring about the majority was actually one of the reasons they turned Tibia to what it is now. It's only that you don't agree with what the majority wanted (and neither do I).
By the way, their online numbers aren't even that low, considering they manage to eliminate 200-chars bot farms

They filmed it as a joke. You're looking too deep into it.
