Use meld and compare your distribution to whatever you were using previously, most of the time you can just copy left or right depending on which side you have the distro you are using but sometimes you'll need to modify the original code and make it work with your distribution.

It's not a matter of people not allowing its a matter of who provides the pull request. Also this client is just a foundation, something which you can use & modify to your liking free of charge. If you would like to upgrade the client with missing features & protocols and share it you are free...

Since the sources have changed since this patch has been introduced the safest way to do it is by hand. It's easier than it looks to do however depending on the changes you might have to alter the patch to meet the needs of the sources & this could require basic to intermediate know of C++...

That price isn't for a dedicated server it's for a vps. You don't need a dedicated server to host TFS especially if you have no player base. Start small & simple when your community grows then upgrade to something more suitable.
